The next Patient Participation Group meeting will be held on Tuesday 23rd September 2025 at Bakewell Surgery 6:30pm-7:30pm.

Flu and Covid vaccinations are now able to be booked in the surgeries.
The flu campaign begins at different dates for different groups

From 1 September 2025:

pregnant women
all children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2025

all children in clinical risk groups aged from 6 months to less than 18 years

From October 2025

those aged 65 years and over
those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups
those in long-stay residential care homes
carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme including those working for a registered residential care or nursing home, registered domiciliary care providers, voluntary managed hospice providers and those that are employed by those who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health budgets, such as Personal Assistants

Covid eligibility is different to that of last winter

For autumn 2025, COVID-19 vaccination will be offered to:

adults aged 75 years and over
residents in care homes for older adults
individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over (the practice cannot at this time vaccinate children)

We now have our new resident doctors in our surgeries.
Dr Ibran Younas is our new foundation doctor who will be with us until December. Dr Younas will be based at our Tideswell Practice working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Dr Lewis Gillespie is our new foundation doctor who will be with us until December. Dr Gillespie will be based at our Bakewell site.
Dr Malak Ali is a doctor in specialist GP training, Dr Ali will be based at our Bakewell site working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Dr Jasmin Rea is in her final stage of GP training and works Monday and Tuesday in our Bakewell site.
Dr Wesam Farah is in her final stage of GP training and works Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at our Bakewell site.
We are also currently joined by medical students from the university College London Medical School. If you see a medical student you will also be joined by a GP during the consultation.

We're launching a chickenpox vaccination programme which will protect around half a million children each year.

From January 2026, eligible children will get an MMRV vaccine to protect against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox.

Eligibility will be announced in due course.

We have a regular citizens advice clinic at our Tideswell surgery.

Did you know if you receive your messages through the NHS app this will not cost your GP practice money, meaning there is more money available for patient care. Under new rules there are only 2 texts per patient on the gp register per month funded; this means any other messages are charged directly to the practice.

Our Patient Participation Group meeting on 5th August 6:30pm is now being held at Tideswell surgery instead of Tideswell Community Hall. The space may be limited at Tideswell surgery however, we will be having a PPG meeting at Bakewell surgery in September and Tideswell surgery in October, dates to be confirmed.

The resident doctors strike taking is place from 7am Friday 25 July until 7am Wednesday 30 July.

GP practices will continue to be open during the strike.

Please continue to attend your GP and dental appointments unless you are contacted otherwise.
