We had lots of fun at bonding generations today!
Lots of singing, dancing and playing from the children, residents and even the staff 😂

Having young children interact with the elderly offers significant benefits, including improved language skills and empathy for kids, reduced loneliness for seniors, and the development of crucial social skills, patience, and respect for aging in children, while providing older adults with purpose and mental stimulation through storytelling and companionship, breaking down age stereotypes for both groups. ❤️

It’s truly heart warming to see how the generations have bonded.

Many of the children have been coming since they were babies and now recognise our residents and even know their names! 🩶

What a fantastic week we have all had at Burton Closes Hall in Bakewell, jam packed with festive activities and Christmas cheer and fun!

The residents have been dancing and singing to Christmas songs and carols.
Making gingerbread houses and trains.
Decorating cup cakes for the Christmas Fayre.
Preparing for the Christmas raffle and wrapping prizes and gifts.
Making and writing on Christmas cards.
Christmas church service.
Santa special with the bonding generations baby group.
Making last minute decorations.
Dominos, animal bingo, bingo, Christmas colouring and Christmas movies.
They all enjoyed watching The Nut cracker ballet performed by the Royal Ballet London on the big screen.

Lastly the amazing Christmas Fayre/ party we had on Friday. It was just wonderful to see families, friends, staff and residents have a wonderful time!
Memories, laughter and good old fashion fun enjoyed by all!
Thank you to everyone who have supported not just the Christmas events, but all of the events held throughout the year. It’s been magical and we couldn’t have done any of them with out your kindness and support ❤️

It’s been a busy and very entertaining day at Burton Closes Hall today!

In the morning the residents have been enjoying spending time with all the beautiful children in our regular playgroup held on Wednesday 10.30-12.00 here at Burton Closes Hall. We have been singing, dancing, playing with lots of lovely toys and having a chat and cuppa, but most importantly making beautiful memories and smiles all round. A fantastic morning enjoyed by everyone.

This afternoon we had a wonderful treat from the lovely Paper Kite duet. They entertained the residents with golden oldies, classic hits and wonderful Christmas songs. Everyone was singing and clapping and having a fantastic time. Thank you Paper kite for a wonderful afternoon.

A fantastic day packed full of fun, laughter and magical memories ❤️

Christmas has come to Burton Closes Hall. Both staff and residents have been very busy decorating all the rooms ready for Christmas and it feels and looks wonderful 🎄

Tuesdays at Burton Closes Hall is Arts and crafts morning, but we thought we would do some festive crafts and build a ginger bread house donated by one of the wonderful residents families here at Burton Closes.

We had a wonderful time making the ginger bread house and it’s tastes amazing!

This afternoon we played Dominos a games enjoyed by all 😊
