Tomorrow Friday 26th September 11.00-12.45pm we are holding a cuppa, cake and chat morning please feel free to come and join us at Burton Closes Hall, Bakewell. Donations and proceeds to the fantastic Macmillan charity. There will be music, a quiz, bingo and lots of cake. Hope to see you there!

It’s arts and craft Tuesday here at Burton Closes Hall Bakewell. Today’s creative activity was to paint a on a recycled plate. And wow the residents have made some wonderful creative plates. They can’t wait to display them in their rooms.

While waiting for the plates to dry we played some fun games as a group which included higher and lower with playing cards, 5 seconds name game and to finish some singing and dancing 🕺🏻

After lunch it was time for our regular walking activity with one of our lovely residents at Burton Closes. We had a great walk around Bakewell park past the river and the locks bridge. We then had a look in the fantastic tourist information centre to find some leaflets and maps of the local areas, and I must say the staff were very helpful and kind.

Then upto the church and Yeld road and then onto Burton closes. It has been a lovely walk and we both enjoyed the beautiful views and the fresh air. Luckliy the weather was on our side today 😊 it was just right!

A great morning and afternoon spent with the wonderful residents, family members and staff here at Burton Closes Hall.

Ahoy me hearties!
Welcome to our Pirate 🏴‍☠️ day here at Burton Closes Hall Bakewell.
What a day we have had, full of song, happiness and joy!

We have made pirate hats, pirate quiz, gave ourselves pirate names such as “Jellyfish the dreadful and scarlet the swift” we sang and danced to sea shanty songs and watch the film Hook 🪝 to finish of the afternoon.

What a great day enjoyed by all.

As said by pirate 🏴‍☠️ Fair winds and following seas 🌊 and we hope you all have a great day!

Today is the start of London fashion week and here at Burton Closes Hall in Bakewell we have our very own fashion designers.

Thursday is arts and crafts morning so the lovely residents have been very busy all morning working on their very own designs and they look amazing!.

We had a great morning designing our outfits and a lovey walk down memory lane talking,chatting and watching videos of the 50s, 60s and 70s fashion and what is was like to grow up in those wonderful years.

To end this fabulous afternoon we had a visit from our very kind local church who delivered a wonderful service. Thank you to Rev Brenda for coming along today we really appreciate your support and kindness.

Here at Burton Closes Hall Bakewell we have had another fun packed Tuesday.

Tuesday mornings is arts and crafts morning, but we thought we would warmup with a new game called build the spider.

The residents had great fun trying to collect all the pieces and body parts of the spider. There were smiles and laughing all morning and we had a great group game.

We then did our theme morning which was Charlie and the chocolate factory from one of Roald Dahl famous books.

The activities included word searches, colouring the characters from the story, learning about the book and film, creating and designing your own chocolate bar and a chocolate quiz.

We spoke about which chocolate we all enjoyed and different types that we could remember, a box Black magic was the most popular.

In the afternoon it was our weekly walk in Bakewell with one of our lovely residents. We had a great walk around Bakewell park, walked by the river watching all the ducks and wildlife. Then onto Ashford in the water and back through Bakewell town centre. Great views, lovely chats and we even missed the rain. ☔️

Another fabulous Tuesday enjoyed by residents and staff at Burton closes Hall.

Wednesday morning at Burton Closes Hall Care Home in Bakewell is our Bonding generations group.

Today residents, parents, children and staff have had a lovely morning playing, singing, dancing and just having lots of fun!

Thank you to all the fabulous parents who bring their children to our wonderful home and group every Wednesday. The residents absolutely love to see you all and we are all very grateful here at Burton Closes for the happiness, warmth and little bit of sparkle you bring into the residents day ❤️

At lunch time the ladies decided they should all do lunch together on one big table which was wonderful to see, chatting, laughter and smiles all round.
Then to finish the afternoon we did some relaxing activities with some colouring, reading and word searches.

If you would like to join us on Wednesdays for our Bonding generations group we would love to see you and come along and join in the fun!

Just look at our wild life garden!!!
The Jerusalem artichoke is still growing, I feel we have our very on bean stalk 🥀

We have full size green beans growing too on our runner bean plants. 🌱

Fantastic effort from both residents and staff especially “big thank you” to Chris our amazing 🤩 maintaince man.

Who knows what we will be growing next year!

What’s been happening at Burton Closes Hall Care Home in Bakewell today!
Well today is arts and crafts Tuesday so we have been celebrating our fantastic emergency services, as today is “Emergency services day”.
The residents have been colouring and painting pictures and have created some wonderful art work relating to the emergency services job roles and the hard work they provide.

The 3D ambulances we made came out really well and will look great on our display walls and not forgetting the word searches that kept us all busy.

We have been chatting about people and family members we know who are in the services and celebrating the fantastic work they do.

Thank you to everyone in the emergency services we really do appreciate all your hard work and dedication 👏

This afternoon myself( Alison) Lewis, Bee the dog 🐶 and one of our wonderful resident went out for a lovely walk in Bakewell.

We had a great time walking in the fresh air and the sun was shining.

We walked up to the top of the fields in Bakewell and found a beautiful spot where we could all sit on a little bench and view the remarkable and stunning views of Bakewell town.

We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place and experience the great country side and views.

It was a great morning and afternoon enjoyed by residents and staff at Burton Closes including Bee the 🐶.
