Reflexology is a technique that applies gentle pressure to your feet or hands. It aims to bring about a state of relaxation and help the body’s own healing process. Reflexology works in a similar way to acupressure and acupuncture. Reflexologists believe there are certain points on the feet and hands.

HOW TO DO SKIN GRITTING

With the launch of our NEW Skin Gritting Duo promotion, we thought it would be helpful to give you a bit more info on how Skin Gritting works.

HOW TO SKIN GRIT WITH IN THE BEGINNING & PURIFICATION

Skin gritting is a deep cleansing technique designed to help loosen congestion and draw impurities from pores, leaving skin feeling smoother, clearer and beautifully refreshed.

Step-by-step ritual

Step 1: Melt & soften

Apply a generous amount of IN THE BEGINNING to dry skin.

Massage thoroughly for 2–3 minutes, focusing on areas prone to congestion (nose, chin, forehead).

Top tip: the longer massage helps to soften hardened sebum and loosen debris within the pores.

Tissue off some of the melted balm, leaving a thin layer on the skin.

Step 2: Purify & draw out impurities

Apply a layer of PURIFICATION directly over the skin (even if slightly oily from Step 1).

Leave on for 10–15 minutes, letting the clay absorb the excess oil and help draw impurities from the pores to the surface of the skin.

Step 3: The “grit” moment

Dampen fingertips with warm water, or you could go back with a second cleanse of IN THE BEGINNING, and gently massage the mask in circular motions as you remove it.

Some Clients may feel tiny “grits” - this is the loosened debris and congestion lifting away.

Remove with a warm cloth and follow with toner, serum and moisturiser.

How often to recommend:

Once a week for combination or oily skin

Every 10–14 days for other skin types

This is not about “scrubbing” - it’s about softening, absorbing and gently lifting congestion using oil and clay working together.

The result? Skin that feels deeply cleansed, smoother and visibly clearer.

Why some areas on the feet feel tender or painful during Reflexology

A question I’m often asked is:
“Why does that spot on my foot feel tender?”

Tenderness in certain areas of the feet is very common, and it’s not something to worry about.

The feet reflect the whole body.
When an area is sensitive, it can indicate that the corresponding part of the body/mind or nervous system has been under pressure, overworked, stressed or adapting to how a part of the body/mind change.

Tenderness can be linked to:
🔆 tension or stress held in the nervous system
🔆 areas that have been compensating or overworking
🔆 emotional or mental issues
🔆 reduced circulation or mobility in that area

As reflexology continues, these tender spots often soften.
This is a beautiful sign that the body is responding, rebalancing and letting go.

Your body speaks through your feet, hands, face and ears not to alarm you, but to guide you.
Reflexology simply listens and supports that conversation.

Gentle awareness creates change.
And your body always knows the way back to balance 💚
