Have you been given doxycycline for a dental issue? Then did you know that you can develop photosensitivity ( allergy to the sun) as one of the side effects? This can be mild or a severe red sun burnt rash which can appear on your face. To avoid this please use sun lotion when going outdoors and adequate protection including sun hats. Contact your GP should this happen whilst taking antibiotics.

Hopefully our patients received their summer 2025 update - unlike other companies we don’t bombard you with emails instead every 6 months (or so) we send you information about what’s happening with us and any updates.

The latest update we have is- we have taken over The Dental Practice, 125 Norton Way South, Letchworth, SG6 1SU. Formally owned by Dr Rao ( who is still running clinics).

We are working on a major refurb but starting with small changes including a new name : Rose House Dental

We aim to replicate what we have at Mews House Dental and offer patients in Letchworth, Hitchin, Henlow and the surrounding areas with the best private dental care for patients and their family.

Like/ share the news with family and friends- we are taking over North Hertfordshire 😆

Time passes quickly - if it has been over 6 months since you last visited us then we recommend a dental check up.

Our ethos has always been prevention is better for your dental health. To ensure your teeth and gums are healthy we recommend coming every 6 months. After all you use your teeth every day so why wouldn’t you MOT your teeth?

Did you know we also see children? Our dental check ups for children under 6 are £20 and over 6s are £30.

It is important to get children used to seeing their dentist as these habits will last a lifetime. Preventing fear of going to the dentist is so important in the early years.

“A quarter of children have tooth decay” discussed today on This Morning

Tips to prevent this:
1. Always get children to brush their teeth x2 a day
2. If your child has milk last thing at night, they need to brush their teeth after this. So falling asleep with a bottle can lead to teeth decay
3. Don’t rinse your child’s mouth after they brush their teeth as the fluoride gets rinsed out
4. Supervise your child when they brush their teeth daily as they most often miss parts of their mouth
5. Use a timer for children to know when 2 minutes is up.

Parents- we offer dental check ups for children from £20 so when you book your check up, don’t forget to get your child checked

Our small family run private dental practice has been delivering bespoke dental care in Baldock for over ten years.

Located right next to the clocktower, we are happy to be one of the small businesses that makes Baldock so special.

With state of the art equipment, we strive to be at the forefront of dental technology. Above all else, communication is key here at Mews House Dental. We believe the patient should always feel heard and in control of their treatment.

With over 28 years of experience, Dr. Jannie Economou decided to open Mews House Dental so that could spend more time with his patients and deliver a more comprehensive quality of care.

From a warm and comfortably furnished waiting room to a surgery equipped with a ceiling television for you to watch during treatment - it's our goal to make you feel at home.

A Little Bit About The Dentist

Qualified at Wits University Johannesburg in 1989, Jannie practiced dentistry in South Africa for 9 years. He emigrated to Hertfordshire where he then worked in Broxbourne for 3 years and Bishop’s Stortford for 5 years. He is now fulfilling his life long dream of being the local dentist to a wonderful community. Jannie is fortunate to have loyal patients that have been with him since he first started working in the U.K. Some have moved to Australia and Canada – but still come back to see him for their check ups! Jannie is know for his warm and caring nature, he is brilliant at explaining clearly every step of treatment with all of his patients.
