Why It Matters to Move Your Body — in All the Ways?

We often hear that exercise is good for us — but it’s more than just ticking off a workout on your to-do list. The real magic happens when we move our bodies in different ways.

Tips for your Summer Night Routine🌙

1. Cool down with mindful movement💕
End your day with gentle, restorative yoga stretches or a slow Pilates flow. Focus on hip openers, forward folds, or legs-up-the-wall (Viparita Karani) to calm the nervous system and help with summer heat.

2. Hydrate — the calming way🍵
Sip a cup of lukewarm herbal tea (like chamomile, lemon balm, or mint) instead of cold drinks right before bed. It helps with digestion and signals your body it’s time to slow down.

3. Create a sunset ritual🌅
About 30–60 minutes before bed, lower the lights, maybe light a candle, and step away from bright screens. This supports melatonin production and gently prepares your mind for rest.

4. Refresh & release🛀
A quick cool shower or wiping your face and neck with a lavender-infused cloth helps remove sweat, lowers your core temperature, and feels incredibly soothing.

5. Gratitude & breath🙏
Close the day with 3 slow, deep belly breaths and name three things you’re grateful for. This small practice shifts the mind toward contentment and calm.

6. Light, nourishing evening meals🍒
Keep dinners summer-friendly: fresh veggies, light proteins, and cooling herbs like coriander and mint. Avoid heavy, spicy foods late at night.

7. Set your sleep sanctuary🛌
Use light, breathable sheets (cotton or linen). Consider a ceiling or bedside fan for gentle airflow, and if noise is an issue, add soft background sounds or a calming playlist.

We have had such a blissful month😍
From the wonderfully hot weather, to our cold plunge Saturday, Bachelorette parties and new teachers entering the HYS family!
Thank you for everyone who participated this month to our events and thank you to all our teachers and staff for working hard 💕

WELCOME TO Hot Yoga South Balham Feel the Heat, Look Younger, Feel Fitter! Here at Hot Yoga South you can practice dynamic yoga in a real, hot yoga class at 50% humidity. The heat allows you to sweat and detoxify through the largest organ of your body: your skin. Get fit from the inside out! We offer the Bikram Yoga method, consisting of 26 Hatha yoga postures. All of our classes are suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners. We teach Warm Vinyasa, Hot Inferno Pilates, Wheel Conditioning and Yin, our newest arrival is Yoga Nidra for relaxation and stress relief. All our teachers at Hot Yoga South have been rigorously selected to give you the sweat of your life. Come to class to practice Hot Yoga, Youth now and sweat yourself beautiful.
