A massive thank you to Cathy and all the team at Roe Valley Residents Association Rvra Limavady for a wonderful night on all things mental health!!

It was a privilege and a blessing to be able to share a small part of my journey so far.

Each of the speakers were fantastic! I got something from each of them!!

One day at a time we do recover. It is possible and it is worth it.

Have a lovely day you beautiful people

Practice practice practice

I have practiced being sober on Paddy's Day for 4 years now, and I had no urge to drink yesterday, I'm in work today! These are all things to be grateful for, but they were so low key I almost missed them!

These "events" and "milestones" just happened... No big fanfare... It is what it is and it is where I am!
I am eternally grateful to be where I am. Hand it over every day and ask for help!

I hope you all had a lovely Paddy's day and if you are struggling please reach out!!

Much love
Anto

General review of 2023

Zero alcohol consumed and another year of recovery πŸŽ‰πŸ™β€οΈπŸ‘Š

Birth of our second daughter Navy to complete our family!
I have become a Christian πŸ™β€οΈ
Multiple promotions in work
The best Christmas and time off
A love for playing pool
Learning and growing to be the best Dad I can be

A brutal run of tests in terms of life on life's terms in the run up to Xmas

Sickness, illness, stress, no routine, alot of worldly pressures, money, all that lovely stuff!!

But I have remained calm... Mostly... Went to my amazing therapist when required, spoke to my Christian friends, spoke to and continued down the right path of recovery! My sobriety toolkit is working!

Success for 2023

- Coached clients who are coming up to and past the year mark. (Time is not a focus, but it's a good marker of consistency!)

- 6 week courses program was a massive success and looking to organise another one this year for family and friends

- Workshop with Lianne in her place. She did all the work but the feed back we got was amazing.

-Raised over Β£1200 for Cuan Muhire rehabilitation centre by running Belfast Marathon on a severely injured leg/hamstring

- Deliver training to Police College Recruits at Sulhampstead for Thames Valley Police as part of an awareness campaign for addiction. Addicts are sometimes at the wrong end of the law, but doesn't mean we are bad people. We have an illness!! Marie is at base camp in Everest right now.... Amazing!!!

- Successfully guided multiple clients through a home guided detox and what steps to take to minimise this impact.

-Getting messages all over the holiday period how I have helped improved their lives by a few simple phone calls and a few bits of guidance!!

The failures:

- Had to pull out of Dublin marathon
- Didn't post as often as I thought I should have
- Have not marketed myself as much as I should have

- Missed opportunities to grow and expand to help others
-Lazy about posting, only do it in one area. Walk home from work.

I feel very proud of my year but I always feel I can do more. My priority is my family and what I have learned is that I must pull back from time to time

Much love
Anthony
