Speech therapy is about so much more than speech — it’s about helping every child find their voice and connect with the world around us!
1. We support children who struggle with understanding language
People often think therapy is just about talking clearly, but we also help children who find it difficult to understand instructions, questions, or conversations. This includes following directions, answering “wh” questions, and processing information.
2. We help with emotional regulation through communication
When children can’t express their needs or feelings, it can show up as frustration or behaviour difficulties. We help children develop the communication tools they need to regulate emotions and express themselves.
3. We use play as a powerful therapy tool
Therapy sessions often look like playing games, building, or storytelling, but every activity is carefully chosen to target communication goals like vocabulary, sentence structure, turn-taking, or speech sounds.
4. We support social communication skills
Speech and language therapy also helps children learn how to interact with others — things like starting conversations, taking turns, reading body language, and understanding jokes or figurative language.
5. We work closely with parents and teachers
Progress doesn’t only happen in sessions. A big part of our role is coaching parents, carers, and educators so children get consistent communication support at home, school, and nursery.
