A powerful attitude will turn good days into even better days and hurdles into small misadventures that hold no grip on you. It's the irreplaceable ingredient that transforms challenges into opportunities and setbacks into stepping stones.

Anyone can learn to build a strong, powerful attitude! It's not about being born with a certain disposition; it's about making a choice every day to approach life with positivity, resilience, and a sense of adventure.

So, how do you develop a powerful attitude? Start with these steps:

Perfectionism is a mechanism you build to protect yourself from your own judgment and that of others because you fear feeling terrible if someone criticizes you.

Letting go of perfectionism and accepting that you are simply human and will make mistakes at times will free you from the stress that trying to be perfect creates.

You can take small steps to start challenging your perfectionism:

Arrive 5 minutes late to a meeting, be kind to yourself about it, and tolerate the discomfort. You’ll see that it’s okay after all.

Wear mismatched socks for a day and observe that you are still okay, despite not being “perfect.”

How we speak to ourselves is largely influenced by our upbringing and the beliefs we acquired along the way. But that can be changed!

Sometimes, we don't realize how harshly we speak to ourselves and how we put ourselves down. A good place to start is by asking yourself:

* Would I speak that way to someone I love?
* What would a friend say?

Chances are you or your friend would never be as critical as you are with yourself.

Keep paying more attention to your words and ask yourself: Am I being kind, helpful, and supportive?

When unsure, try again imagining what a friend would say in your situation. This simple trick will help you gain perspective quickly.

Creating a kind and powerful inner voice takes practice, but if you keep at it, soon it will become second nature. You'll be your own cheerleader!

When you ruminate, it's really an attempt to gain a sense of control over future experiences, a sense of certainty. But it's just an illusion of control, and you end up feeling more stressed. Why?

It's not the event or future situation itself that stresses you out, it's the rumination - the "what if" scenarios that could happen. You are attempting to make something predictable when it's not.

The good news is you can get real control by reminding yourself, any time you "what if" a situation, that you've got this - that you have the skills to cope and handle that situation really well.

The key insight is that this is where the future becomes predictable, because whatever happens, one thing you know for certain is that you CAN handle things. 🙌
