This time last year (in the photo) I was on fire from the excruciating burns that radiotherapy caused. This picture is all smiles thanks to the fun day run by which offered a lovely slice of normality for our family during a really tough summer.

To give back to this great charity, and to take back control, in a few weeks I'm going for the burn again, but this time, walking over burning coals 🔥

I am delighted that my last fundraiser generated much needed income for this charity and am ready to ask for donations all over again! The hardest part of my cancer diagnosis and treatment was navigating it all as a parent and that's why Cancer Fund for Children is so close to my heart!

This is the face of a woman with a full heart on this Saturday evening 💜 I had the loveliest morning catching up with women who have been to my classes over the last 11 years; from someone who has become a dear friend since attending my first ever class, to those who were with me until I went off for surgery, a couple of Mums who trekked a long way across the country (Cookstown and Belfast), and a few who came to introduce new babies (some still bumps), and of course a whole load of toddlers and kids!

The morning was pretty chaotic at times, and I didn't get to speak at length to everyone, but it was an utter joy to see those of you who came over, to get to say hi to your wee ones and to see all the loved toys & equipment going to new homes - either hand picked by my little visitors this morning or set aside to go to schools & nurseries.

It is so bittersweet to be closing the doors on the business I have loved so much, but my heart is full, the memories are beautiful, and my online community will stay open ♥️

Thank you all so much for your generosity - we have raised over £500 in less than 48 hours. So grateful 🙏

I have set up a Just Giving link for donations for anyone picking up from the studio. A few people who have loved classes also asked to donate and it would mean so much to be able to give back to Cancer Fund for Children. Having to tell my child I had cancer was the hardest and scariest thing I have done and this charity were there through it all. Thank you in advance for any donations, no matter the size 💜

I have accumulated so much stuff over the last 11 years of running a birth & baby business. As I close this chapter, everything must go.

This weekend I invite you to drop in & say hello, and take any bits you want. If you are in the position to do so, I would be grateful for a donation which will help Cancer Fund for Children.

I have everything from sensory toys, to books, puppets, baby blankets and sleeping bags, to seasonal toys & outfits, to dolls, to yoga mats & birth balls.

Everything must go, collection from Galgorm this weekend. Anything left over will be donated to charity or recycled. Call in, grab a piece of class history and say hi!

💫 Astrological New Year 💫

Happy New Astrological Year! Yesterday brought sure signs of spring; blue skies, sunshine & signs of new life. It also brought new beginnings to the Nurtured Mother team, with Gemma sharing news of a fresh adventure for her.

Although the doors to The Nurtured Mother will be closing soon, I am absolutely thrilled at the opportunity to step back in to teaching one last term of birthing. Winding down the business is bittersweet, but this unexpected jump back in to the saddle is very welcome.

Sadly I won't be teaching another term of baby classes; there are still a number of medical appointments to navigate in coming weeks, and I am building my immune system back up, but I have directed our new Mums to some other lovely classes and how timely that Orla ( ) has a beautiful restorative class for new Mums coming up!

I have adjusted the dates of the Nurtured Bumps class by a couple of weeks and am excited to be able to offer the remaining 4 spaces available to book now.

I am so grateful to Gemma for manning the Fort this last 10 months, and I know she will absolutely rock this new adventure. In the meantime I am so excited to get back to the studio and to bring birth confidence, connection & relaxation to my last group of expectant Mums.

I would love you to help me spread the word that I am BACK for one term only - help me go out with a bang! 💣

Who else would like to join us for our last ever Birthing class in Ballymena?

This 6 week programme will teach you all about labour, birth and how to prepare for postpartum. During the class we'll move, learn different breathing & relaxation techniques for labour & birth (and beyond), relax with guided meditation and have a bit of craic with other local pregnant women. With the help of a WhatsApp group for support outside class, you'll have your own ready made gang of buddies for all the baby classes when your baby arrives!

Forever in awe of the strength of Mothers, especially those who find days like today challenging; Motherless Mothers, those with empty arms, those doing it without an equal partner, those whose greatest wish is to be a Mother, those struggling with motherhood...

Mothers rock, and today I celebrate my Mum, my mother-in-law and my own mothering journey, as well as the joy I have had building a community of mothers over the last 11 years...
