🚴🏻♂️ Cycle for MND & Colon Cancer 🚴🏻♂️
Myself, Local Dentist, Dougie Thom and London based leasing agent Andrew Knox will be attempting to complete a 140 mile Charity Cycle, on Wednesday the 24th of September.
The cycle is in support of the charities set up by two of rugby’s biggest Legends, Doddie Weir and Tom Smith. Sadly both former British & Irish Lions players passed away in 2022. Before this, however, both had set up their own Charities, My Name’5 Doddie to help with MND research and Tom’s, 40Tude curing Colon Cancer charity.
Dougie, Cameron and Andrew all attend Revival Gym together and decided during one of their early morning sessions that they would relish the challenge of the cycle, while also helping to raise funds for the two amazing charities.
The men will be joining several of Doddie and Tom’s ex Lions, Scotland and Club team mates, including Rob Henderson, Nigel Carr, Iwan Tukalo, Budge Pountney, Simon Danielli and Paddy Johns.
The event is being organised by Stu Thom (also a former team mate of Doddie’s) who is CEO at Royal Belfast and he has teamed up with the other “Royal” golf clubs in Northern Ireland to facilitate the Cycle. The “Royal Dash” will start at Royal Portrush, head down via Ballymena and Ballynahinch Rugby Clubs to Royal County Down before turning back up and finishing at Royal Belfast Golf Club, giving a total of just over 140 miles or 250kms!!
Any wishing to support Dougie, Cameron and Andrew can donate on the “Royal Dash” Justgiving page.
