Here is a diagram to show the work carried out in a GP practice. The tip of the iceberg is what is seen by the patients and the media, the large area below is the actual work carried out by all our departments and what isn’t seen by the general public. There are many other tasks we could add which are carried out in Ballymoney!

Usually when we get new staff they can’t believe the amount of work that goes in both front of house and behind the scenes to keep the practice running. We take this opportunity to thank all of them for their daily hard work and dedication!

🩼🩼The practice is closed Wednesday afternoon, 19th November but our final flu clinics will be running as scheduled between 4pm and 5pm. So if you’ve not responded to your invite this is your opportunity to get your vaccine 🩼🩼

On WEDNESDAY 19th November 2025, the Ballymoney Family Practice Team will be taking part in staff training and development.

Therefore our phones lines and reception will be open Wednesday from 8.30am and will close at 1.00pm. If you require a doctor in an EMERGENCY please dial 028 2566 3500.

Our online services will continue including the ability to book GP appointments and order prescriptions if you have an online account.

Remember you may also telephone 02827660301, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to order repeat prescriptions via the voicemail facility.
(Please always allow 48 working hours for prescriptions to be processed)

Our ongoing training and development and team building for all staff is of the utmost importance, this ensures that we are up to speed with the latest front line care systems to help deliver a first class service to our patients and to maintain our staffs emotional health and well being in the workplace.

Normal hours will resume on Thursday.

Tomorrow is the start of World AMR Awareness Week (18-24 November).

Antibiotics don’t work on viruses like colds or flu. Self-care is often the best choice to treat minor illnesses.

Pharmacists are qualified to give advice about different health matters, including minor illnesses, so consider speaking to a pharmacist before going to your GP.

Also if eligible get your flu and COVID-19 vaccine.

🎉 BEVERLEY MCALEESE, 40 YEARS SERVICE 🎉

1st November 1985 the GPs employed a very young Beverley Graham to work as a medical receptionist at Ballymoney Family Practice. 📞

Yesterday we opened our new reception area but what Beverley didn’t know (and we still don’t know how we all kept it a secret 🤫) was that we were celebrating her remarkable milestone as well. She was very surprised; she had the honour of cutting the ribbon 🎀 and there’s a special plaque on the wall to mark her years of service and dedication. 🖼️

She did say she’s well settled in her job 😂 (we’d like to hope so), that it’s a great place to work and that she really would be there forever with the wall plaque🥰. Beverley was presented with some beautiful gifts and there was a lovely lunch provided. 💐

Congratulations Beverley and well done on reaching this outstanding milestone 🥳

🎉 Tomorrow, Friday 31st October 2025, the Health Centre main door and telephone lines will close from 12.30pm until 2.00pm to allow the staff and guests to celebrate the opening of our new reception. There’s still some bits of work to be finished but the main area is complete! Thank you to all of you for your patience during the disruption. We will show you some photos when works are fully complete 🎉
