🌟 Are you interested in working in a GP Practice?

We’re delighted to announce that following the success of our pilot earlier this year, funding has been secured to run our second Medical Administration Training Academy starting in September! 🙌

✅ 9 participants completed the pilot with 5 gaining offers of employment within GP practices’ *within eight weeks of completion*

This 8-week academy, delivered by Northern GP Federation Support Unit and funded by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council Labour Market Partnership, will equip you with knowledge and confidence to begin a career in general practice administration.

Dates for the diary:
• Info Session: 10am - Tuesday 19 August 2025
• Start Date: Tuesday 9 September 2025
• Timetable: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:30am–4:00pm
📍 Location: Northern GP Federation Support Unit, Ballymena

Who can apply?
🔹 Primarily Mid & East Antrim residents aged 18+. There may be a possibility for acceptance from other Council areas with the relevant approval.
🔹 Due to subject to large volume of interested participants, selection criteria may need to be applied. All candidates must be available to attend all classes, be comfortable using computers and confident in their ability to learn new programmes.

A Baby Loss Certificate Scheme is being developed as a way for parents who have experienced the loss of a child before the end of 24 weeks of pregnancy to obtain formal recognition of their loss. The Department of Finance is asking for input to help to shape how the scheme will look and operate.

☎️ Just reassurance to our patients that although you cannot no longer see or hear our phones being answered, since we started renovations, we assure you that they are getting your full attention. ☎️

A temporary room has been secured in the building (see below) which is exclusively being used for call handling. In June staff answered a whopping 8180 calls 😳

When renovations are complete we will have a secure room where the phones will be answered meaning there will be less footfall through the main reception. We hope this will enable staff to give their full concentration to you both face to face and on the telephone 📞

As always your patience during this busy time is much appreciated 🥰

🌞🌞 Ballymoney Family Practice will be closed for the upcoming Bank Holiday on Monday 14th July 2025. According to the forecast the sun is to shine over the weekend in Ballymoney! 🌞🌞

Patients can access our online services (if you have registered) to order prescriptions and can also be ordered via voicemail, both of these services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Any online prescriptions or voicemail prescriptions ordered after 5pm on Friday the 11th July, will not start to be be processed until 8:30am on Tuesday the 15th July.

Please remember, you should allow 48 working hours (not including weekends and bank holidays) for all prescriptions to be processed.

If a local pharmacy collects your prescriptions for you, we would ask patients to also allow 48 working hours (not including weekends or Bank Holidays) for these to be dispensed by your pharmacy. These can not be collected in advance at the health center as they are being processed and logged in our internal system.

Many local pharmacies are open throughout the Bank Holiday.

Please check with your preferred Chemist.

We encourage our staff to keep up with training and development and we wish to pass on our best wishes to Mary and we hope that her Diploma can enhance and encourage her skills in Ballymoney Family Practice. We hope she has a lovely day with her family celebrating her success. Well done 🥰

⭐️ This is Louise. Louise is our Practitioner who looks after all our patient’s Mental Health but behind the scenes Louise does more than look after the patients. Louise is our friend and our team player. She is kind, reliable, supportive, communicative, and proactive. She consistently delivers high-quality staff wellbeing training, she always helps others, and maintains a positive attitude towards everyone and her work. She looks out for all of us ⭐️

Today the reception staff gave Louise a little token of their appreciation for everything she does for us. Even though she has a busy work and home life she still makes time for us all. 💐
