💊💊💊💊 PRESCRIPTIONS 💊💊💊💊

Just a gentle reminder that the practice has been closed since Friday 3rd April 2026. We will only be reopening at 8.30 on Wednesday 8th April 2026. No staff have been in over the bank holiday🔓

Usually after a 2 day bank holiday there are hundreds of voicemails for repeat prescriptions, online repeat prescription requests & many paper requests all backed up and waiting to be fulfilled.

These all have to be individually processed by a receptionist and then left for a GP/Pharmacist to complete the cycle of issuing and signing the paperwork (This in between seeing patients with limited staff due to annual leave).

All staff work very hard to get through these large quantities and the backlog. This is why it takes 48 hours from the practice opens until you receive your medication at the pharmacy.

We would kindly ask that you do not phone to ask if medication has been done, please wait until Friday 10/04/26 before making your way to the chemist and then if you have a problem you can make contact with reception.

It is important to remember that if you run out of repeat medication completely you may ask your regular pharmacy to loan you some until your script is processed. 💊

☎️ A big shout out to our reception team who answered a whopping 562 calls today. That is approximately 75 calls per hour! 🤯

The staff offer appointments, give out blood results, answer queries, order prescriptions, deal with hospitals and other outside agencies and sympathise with patients when they are going through difficult times. No 2 calls are ever the same and we are proud our staff take the time to help the patients on the other end of the phone even though the phone lines are extremely busy. ☎️

On WEDNESDAY 25th March 2026, the Ballymoney Family Practice Team will be taking part in staff training and development.

Therefore our phones lines and reception will be open Wednesday from 8.30am and will close at 1.00pm. If you require a doctor in an EMERGENCY please dial the Practice number, 02827660300 and follow the instructions.

Our online services will continue including the ability to book GP appointments and order prescriptions if you have an online account.

Remember you may also telephone 02827660301, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to order repeat prescriptions via the voicemail facility.
(Please always allow 48 working hours for prescriptions to be processed)

Our ongoing training and development and team building for all staff is of the utmost importance, this ensures that we are up to speed with the latest front line care systems to help deliver a first class service to our patients and to maintain our staffs emotional health and well being in the workplace.

Normal hours will resume on Thursday.

🌼 BANK HOLIDAY - Tuesday 17th March 2026 🌼

Just a gentle reminder that Ballymoney Family Practice is closed on Tuesday 17th March. We will reopen on Wednesday 18th March at 8.30am.

It is important to remember to order your prescriptions on time and that any items ordered over the bank holiday period takes 48 hours to be processed, that is, 48 hours from opening on Tuesday morning. Repeat Prescriptions will not be ready until Thursday at the earliest.

Please avail of our online services and voicemail prescription ordering service to help keep phone lines clear for acute and emergency enquiries.
