It is with regret we announce the passing of:

Clarke – Michael, 9th December 2025, late of Fort Hall, Dundonald. Precious son of Margaret and loyal friend of many. A Celebration for Michael’s life will be held at 11.20 am on Monday 22nd December 2025 in Roselawn Crematorium. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by the entire family circle.

As the year draws to a close, it’s common to think of the people who are special to us – especially those we've lost. That’s why we’ve chosen to take part in Light a Candle.

From 15 to 21 December we’ll be posting digital candles in memory of those who can’t be with us during the festive season. If you’d like to create a virtual candle, please click the following link where you can choose a design and write a short message to a loved one.

McHoul – Margaret (née Ground), 11th December 2025, peacefully, at home, her loving family by her side, late of Greenfinch Close, Ballyhalbert. Beloved wife of Brian, deeply loved mum of Lesley and Darren, highly respected mother-in-law of Ronnie and Joanne, cherished nanny of Aaron, Jordan and Jenna and doting great-nanny of Rory. Funeral arrangements strictly private honouring Margaret’s personal wishes. No flowers please by request. Margaret will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered.

We’re pleased to announce the return of Light a Candle this Christmas!

Taking part in this Christmas’s Light a Candle gives you the opportunity to create online memorials throughout the festive period.

Christmas is a special time to celebrate with family and friends, and our virtual candles are a thoughtful way to pay tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us.

We'll be sharing virtual candles on our page between 15 and 21 December. There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

Grief is a journey. Often, doing something practical can help you travel through it.

Because of different life events we don't always feel full of joy at Christmas and so we will be holding a Memorial Service on Wednesday 10th December at 7pm in Holy Trinity Church, Ballywalter.

This will be a quieter, more contemplative service with some music, readings and periods of silence to allow us to reflect on loved ones no longer with us. It will be an opportunity to join with others as we journey through our grief, as well as helping us reflect on the hope that Jesus can bring to our lives. The service will be candlelit, so the lights are low, and no one will notice if you shed a tear.

There will also be the opportunity to place the names of loved ones on our memorial Christmas tree. Tags will be provided on the evening.
(If you can't make it next Wednesday, then either come to one of our other services during December, or get in touch with the name of your loved one and we will place a tag on the tree for you.)

Refreshments will be served afterwards and everyone is welcome! This is a whole community event and it doesn't matter whether you would consider yourself 'religious' or not, grief doesn't differentiate and neither do we.

Beloved wife of the late Bertie, devoted mother of Helen, highly respected mother-in-law of David, dearly loved grandmother of Sarah-Louise, Christine and husband Karl, great-grandmother of Mia and Ella, cherished sister of Agnes, Jean and the late Sammy, Barbara and Stanley, a loving sister-in law, aunt and loyal friend to many. A Service of Thanksgiving for Ann’s life will held at 11.00 am on Thursday 4th December 2025 in Holy Trinity Parish Church, Ballywalter, followed by committal in Whitechurch Cemetery at 12 noon.
