We would like to say a huge Thank You to Ellon Fire Station for the very generous cheque we were presented with tonight. Fiona, Alex and Rachel were delighted to attend along with the other groups to be presented with some of the money that they have collected over the last year doing the Santa runs and their Open Day.

The 2025 season is officially over. Many, many Thanks to this amazing team (just some of us in today’s photo).

Sunday 28th September is the last day of our season here at Balmedie Country Park. The Sand Bothy and Balmedie Beach Wheelchairs will close for the season 2025.
We will be open 12-4 (last booking at 3). The weather looks favourable and the tide is low at 11.30 so there will be plenty of flat sand!
Baby Buggies and Wheelchairs will be available to hire for FREE (as usual).

Perhaps you would consider volunteering with us?! Come and have a chat with our amazing volunteers. Let them show you what we do. We would love to meet you.

This is Maurice, a great friend of ours. He loves to use the X8 Electric Wheelchair. We always look forward to his visits.

Our volunteers have worked hard this season and it’s been a busy time!
Unfortunately, due to most of us having commitments at the same time we are unable to provide wheelchairs for a wee while.
Our baby buggies will be available as usual from the Sand Bothy on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

We will let you know when we are able to make the wheelchairs available again. It won’t be long!

The glorious 🌞 weather and low tide combined to make it a perfect day. Only improved with an ice cream at The Sand Bothy when we finished! 🍦

Just a quick update from Belhelvie Community Trust. We are responsible for running The Sand Bothy, Balmedie Beach Wheelchairs, Potterton Volunteers, Balmedie Hub, Balmedie Litter Squad and Balmedie Community Sensory Garden. To help us keep running these projects we have just applied to The National Lottery for some funds, so fingers crossed they will be able to help us. Our volunteers took part in the ‘Celebrate Aberdeen Parade’ again. It’s so good to be out with all the other amazing Volunteer groups to celebrate 😁

The wheelchairs are regularly maintained by our volunteer Mike he does a fabulous job. Balmedie Beach Wheelchairs is a charity and our chairs are free to hire. Donations welcome.
