Have you ever felt tired… but not the kind of tired that sleep fixes?

Like your body is okay, but something in you just feels flat. Heavy. A bit disconnected.
That’s usually not just physical tiredness… that’s energetic.

And the two are very different.

Physical tiredness says: go to bed, rest, slow down.

The energetic drain says: something is taking from you.

It could be people.
It could be overthinking.
It could be constantly being “on” for everyone else.
It could be not having a minute to yourself to just be.

And the thing is, you can sleep for 8 hours and still wake up feeling the same if that part isn’t addressed.

Sometimes what you actually need isn’t more sleep… it’s space.
A few quiet minutes.
A walk.
Turning your phone off.
Saying no to something.
Doing something that feels like you again.

We’re so used to pushing through everything, but not everything is meant to be pushed through.

Sometimes it’s a sign to pull back a little… protect your energy… and come back to yourself.

Have you ever noticed when your knees or legs are sore, but you can’t always put it down to something physical?

Sometimes I think our body speaks in ways we don’t always listen to straight away.

Legs are what move us forward… they carry us through life, through changes, through decisions. And knees especially — they’re about bending, flexibility, going with things rather than fighting against them.

So when there’s pain there, I always gently wonder…

Am I resisting something?
Am I feeling stuck or unsure about moving forward?
Am I carrying too much, physically or emotionally?

It’s not about overthinking it or assuming everything has a deeper meaning, but sometimes it’s worth just checking in with yourself.

Where in your life are you being asked to move, but something is holding you back?
Or where are you pushing too hard, not giving yourself a chance to pause?

Your body isn’t working against you, it’s always trying to communicate with you.

Even just taking a moment to slow down, stretch, rest, or soften your approach to things can make a difference.

Not everything has to be forced forward… sometimes it’s about easing into the next step 🤍

There’s something about April… it always feels like a quiet turning point.

The darker, heavier months start to lift a bit, the mornings feel lighter, and there’s this gentle sense that things are ready to move again. Not rushed, not forced… just naturally shifting.

Energy-wise, April can feel like a reset. A chance to clear out what’s been sitting with you, shake off the slower energy of winter, and start fresh — but in a steady, grounded way.

It’s a lovely month for getting back to yourself. Clearing your space, your mind, your energy. Letting go of things that don’t feel right anymore, and slowly making room for what does.

A few little moments to be aware of this month…

🌑 New Moon – 27th April
This is a beautiful time to set intentions. Keep it simple — what do you actually want more of in your life right now? Write it down, speak it out loud, or just hold it in your mind.

🌕 Full Moon – 13th April
Full moons tend to bring things up to the surface. Emotions, thoughts, realisations. It’s a good time to release — whether that’s journalling, resting, or just allowing yourself to feel whatever comes up without pushing it away.

✨ In-between days (especially around the 1st–5th and 20th–27th)

These can feel like little pockets of opportunity. Good for taking small steps forward, making plans, or planting seeds (literally and energetically).

April isn’t about big, dramatic changes. It’s more gentle than that.

It’s about reconnecting. Resetting. Letting things unfold in their own time.

So if you’ve been feeling a bit stuck or heavy, this month might just bring that quiet shift you’ve been needing.

Nothing forced, nothing overwhelming…

Soul Balance Therapies

Soul Balance Therapies is conveniently located in the Mall in Banbridge with ample car-parking and being just off the main shopping access is easy.

Melissa is a fully certified Reiki Practitioner and Masseuse, specializing in pain/injury therapy. There are various techniques that are used during a session, these can include Chinese Cupping, Tens Machine and Deep Tissue Massage to name but a few, or you can try a Wellness Massage to help with making you feel pampered and relaxed.

Melissa is passionate about Reiki and is naturally intuitive and often able to pick up on emotional or physical issues and treat them accordingly. A Reiki session will assist you to feel better and can help with issues such as trauma, sleep problems, depression and other physiological conditions. Reiki is also great just before a massage to help with relaxation.
