Yesterday, our Care Manager Jennifer and Care Coordinator Kathy had the pleasure of attending the Northern Ireland Social Care Council Social Care Managers’ Forum in Armagh. It was an inspiring day, opened by CEO Tracy Reid, and we’re grateful to all the hosts and speakers for their warm welcome and invaluable insights. 🙏

Highlights included thought-provoking presentations from Catherine Maguire, Jane McMillan, and Jemma Hennings on the new Guidance for Social Care Employers – Responding to Racism and Promoting Inclusion. Jonah Atos shared her personal journey and offered practical advice on supporting ethnically diverse staff. Dr. Shirley Boyle presented preliminary findings from the children’s services practitioners survey, and Suzanne McStravick provided expert tips on coaching and mentoring in social care.

It was fantastic to see so many managers participating in the digital interactive exercises, and staff also benefited from the winter flu vaccination clinic on site – many thanks to Nurse Alison for her support. 💉👏

We were absolutely thrilled to have Una and Declan from Home Instead attend the 11th Annual NI SME Business Conference and Expo, organised by Newry Chamber, at the Canal Court Hotel & Spa. Well done to Newry Chamber for championing small businesses – the backbone of our local economy – and for delivering such a powerful and inspiring programme. We were delighted to attend the ABC Labour Market Partnership Conference at Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre last week! It was a fantastic opportunity for Una, Declan, and Catherine from Home Instead to connect with educators, employers, and policymakers, all working together to shape the future of careers across the Armagh, Banbridge, and Craigavon borough. A huge thank you to Hugh Rickard, Liz Broom, Glenda King, and all the fantastic speakers and organisers Huntington's Disease Association Northern Ireland for putting on such an informative and engaging event in Friday. Our Care Manager Jennifer, along with our dedicated Care Professionals Bethany and Ellie were delighted to attend. It was a truly insightful and invaluable conference, filled with important updates and expert perspectives that will help us continue providing the best support possible to people living with Huntington’s in their own homes.
