Prestige Nursing & Care Banbury

Prestige Nursing & Care Banbury We provide home support for people who want to remain independent in their own homes.

The friendly dependable Oxfordshire team have been providing home care services to clients and supporting their families in Banbury, Bicester, Witney and the surrounding areas since 2006. Our approach is holistic, centred on the needs and expectations of each of our clients and their relatives through communicating and involving them every step of the way. We believe in encouraging our clients to be as active as they are able, physically mentally and socially. We do this through involving them in daily tasks, stimulating the mind for example by reminiscing or rediscovering an interest in a hobby. Loneliness is a major concern to relatives of our clients, so we often accompany clients on trips out, a walk in the park or to the supermarket, keeping them connected to the outside world.

November marks Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

We’ve mentioned symptoms below, but what are some risk factors?

• If you are aged 65 or over
• If you smoke
• If you are overweight
• If you have a family history of pancreatic cancer
• If you have pancreatitis
• If you have diabetes

*Having one or more risk factor does not mean you will definitely get this cancer.

Don’t know where to start to reduce your risk? You can start by quitting smoking if you smoke, maintaining a healthy weight if you’re overweight and limiting your alcohol intake if you drink.

Knowledge = prevention 💜

Why work in care? 🤝

💜 Help make a difference everyday 💜

Being a carer means no two days are the same. Every day brings new opportunities, from helping with daily routines to providing companionship and emotional support.

What are some advantages of being a carer?

✨ You can make a difference – you will make life better for the people you care for.

🕰️ Flexible working hours – a variety of different working hours and rotas means you can find shifts that fit in with your schedule.

✅ Gain qualifications – although qualifications are not necessary to work in care, many employers offer the opportunity to earn recognised qualifications that can increase your job prospects.

🌟 Meet the Team - Laura🌟

This week, we’re delighted to introduce Laura, one of the wonderful members of our Prestige Nursing & Care Banbury team! 💙

Laura joined us not long ago but has already become an invaluable part of the team, known for her outstanding client support, positive attitude, and seamless teamwork. Her commitment and kindness shine through in everything she does - which is why she was recently recognised as our Colleague of the Month for August! 👏✨

Here’s what Laura says about herself:
💬 “While life at home is absolute chaos raising four kids and caring for my uncle with Parkinson’s, I’m incredibly passionate about my work. Each of my clients is unique and important to me. And when I get a moment to unwind, nothing beats watching movies with my kids, taking them to the park, and walking our dog Milo.” 🐾🎬💖

We’re so grateful to have you on the team, Laura - your warmth, dedication, and positive spirit make such a difference every single day! 🌷

October marks National Cholesterol Month! Lets talk about the silent risk…

❌Myth: “I feel fine so my cholesterol must be fine”
✅Fact: High Cholesterol can show no symptoms at all – but can lead to heart attacks or strokes.

There is no better time to get you cholesterol checked. Have you had your cholesterol tested and checked in the last 5 years?

Three things you can do today…

🗓️ Schedule a cholesterol screening
🍔Swap processed snacks for nuts or fruit – its important to cut back on trans fats and ultra processed foods. What are some examples of ultra processed foods? – click the following link to find out https://ow.ly/jv1k50X9Tww
🥬Add fibre – oats, beans and veggies are cholesterols worst enemy!

🔁 Share this with someone who might need a nudge to get checked.
