Spring is here, and with it a gentle invitation to begin again 🌿✨

As the light returns and everything around us starts to soften, open, and grow, we’ve created a new timetable at Temple of Yoga — the only dedicated yoga studio in Banbury — to support you in this season of renewal 🌸

Whether you’re craving movement, rest, connection, or simply a moment to breathe 🤍 there’s space for you here. From grounding Hatha and flowing Vinyasa, to deeply nourishing Rest & Restore, as well as pregnancy yoga and mama circles 👶🫶 each class is an opportunity to come home to yourself — just as you are.

You don’t need to be more flexible, more energised, or more anything. You can arrive exactly as you are, and let the practice meet you there 🌙

We would love to welcome you into the space this spring 🌼

So many of us are trying to fix our bodies by doing more.

More steps.
More workouts.
More discipline.

But your nervous system doesn’t change through force — it changes through felt safety.

When you are under ongoing stress, your body spends more time in the sympathetic state (fight / flight).

This is where cortisol is higher, digestion is down-regulated, recovery is reduced and the body is simply trying to cope.

The other side of your nervous system — the parasympathetic state — is where repair happens.
This is your rest, digest and restore mode.

It’s the state your body needs for:

• hormonal balance
• healthier stress responses
• better sleep
• improved digestion
• and yes — more supportive conditions for sustainable weight regulation

Not because rest is a weight-loss tool.
But because your body cannot heal, regulate or feel safe while it is constantly bracing.

✨ You don’t need more willpower.
✨ You need more permission to rest.

🌙 Rest & Reset – Nervous System Evening

Tomorrow at Temple of Yoga
🕡 6.30–8.00pm (last Friday of the month)

A 90-minute, candle-lit class devoted entirely to resetting your nervous system.

We’ll move slowly through:
• yin and restorative postures
• long, fully supported holds
• gentle music and soft lighting

So you can feel nourished, held and deeply rested.

This isn’t about stretching.
It’s about teaching your nervous system that it is safe to soften and let go. 🌙

Happy Valentine’s weekend ❤️

To celebrate, we’re running a bring-a-friend for free offer for the rest of the month.

If there’s someone in your life who’s been curious about yoga but has never been to the studio before, they’re very welcome to join you in any weekday class — completely free.

How it works (nice and simple):
✨ You book yourself into your class as normal
✨ Then us with your friend’s name
✨ We will send you a code for them to use to book their class for free

It’s a gentle way to share the practice — not as something to fix ourselves, but as a place to slow down, breathe, and arrive together. 🤍

I trust that life is already moving.

Not because I have a plan.
Not because I can see what’s coming.

But because something is softening underneath the surface of my life.

Imbolc arrives like a quiet yes.

Not a push.
Not a demand.
Not another moment to shape yourself into something better.

Just an invitation to stop standing in the way of what is already unfolding.

This is a gentle time.
A time for leaning into the natural current rather than forcing your will upon it.

A time for listening instead of deciding.
For sensing instead of striving.

The quickening is happening whether we notice it or not.

In the soil.
In the lengthening light.
In your body.
In the subtle shifts of your inner world.

Nothing needs to be rushed into being.
Nothing needs to be wrestled into place.

Only tuned into.
Only softened towards.
Only met with a little less resistance.

I trust that life is already moving.
And today, that is enough.

We’re so excited to welcome Katy and Singing Mamas to the studio 🤍🎶

Singing Mamas is a soft, nourishing space for mamas at every stage — a place to slow down, breathe out, and feel held in song and community. Singing supports emotional wellbeing, helps regulate the nervous system, and can gently lift mood — a simple but powerful support during motherhood.

These sessions use soul-soothing songs to help mamas connect — with themselves and each other — while little ones are free to do their thing. No pressure, no performance, just shared sound, presence, and belonging.

✨ Fridays at 10.30am
📍 Temple of Yoga Studio, Banbury
🎶 60 minutes of guided group singing
☕ Followed by 30 minutes of relaxed connection with cake and caffeine (or decaf!)

Come as you are.
Be held by song.
Leave a little lighter.

✨What If You Didn’t Try to Change Your Life This Year?✨
Yoga Philosophy Series: Santosha

Santosha invites us to pause the constant striving to improve, fix, or become something else. It asks us to soften into the truth that everything we are meeting right now is part of a greater unfolding. Nothing is accidental. Each experience—ease or difficulty—arrives as a teacher, offering exactly what we need to grow, awaken, and evolve.

At the start of a new year, we are often encouraged to set resolutions and push ourselves toward achievement. Santosha offers a quieter, more radical practice: resting in the reality of what *is*. Not from laziness or giving up, but from presence. From a conscious choice to meet our lives fully, rather than wishing them away in pursuit of some imagined future.

When we practice Santosha, we learn to trust that life is guiding us. We stop resisting the moment and begin listening to it. From this place of acceptance, clarity and right action naturally arise—rooted not in lack, but in wholeness.

On the mat, Santosha lives in the willingness to meet each posture as it arrives today. Off the mat, it becomes a spiritual devotion—an act of faith in divine timing and the wisdom of our own lived experience.

This year, instead of asking: What should I change?
We invite you to ask: How can I be fully present with what is already here? ✨

Join us in class as we explore Santosha through movement, breath, and stillness—allowing contentment to become a doorway to deeper freedom.

The power of pregnancy yoga 🤍

Pregnancy yoga is more than gentle stretching — it’s a powerful way to support both body and mind during one of life’s biggest transformations.

As your body changes, pregnancy yoga helps build strength where you need it most: hips, legs, back, and pelvic floor. The poses are designed to ease common discomforts like back pain, tight hips, swelling, and fatigue, while improving posture and circulation. Just as important, the breathwork teaches you how to relax through intensity — an invaluable skill for labour and birth.

Beyond the physical benefits, pregnancy yoga creates space for deep connection. Each practice is an invitation to slow down, tune in, and bond with your baby. Mindful movement and breathing calm the nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety, and help you feel grounded and confident in your changing body.

Perhaps the greatest power of pregnancy yoga is trust. Trust in your breath. Trust in your body’s wisdom. Trust in your ability to meet each stage of pregnancy — and birth — with strength, softness, and presence.

✨ I’m delighted to be starting a new Pregnancy Yoga class at Temple of Yoga, Banbury — a warm, supportive space to feel held, empowered, and connected, one breath at a time.
