👁️ World Glaucoma Week – Protect Your Sight 👁️

Did you know glaucoma is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness worldwide?

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, often caused by increased pressure inside the eye. The tricky part? It usually develops slowly and without noticeable symptoms, especially in the early stages.

That’s why regular eye examinations are so important.

🔍 What are the signs?
In most cases there are no early warning signs. As the condition progresses, it can gradually reduce your peripheral (side) vision, which is why glaucoma is often called the “silent thief of sight.”

While glaucoma cannot be cured, it can be managed effectively if detected early. Treatments may include:
• Prescription eye drops to lower eye pressure

We opened our practice on 23rd May 2005, with just myself and my wife Claire at the helm, we are Banbury’s only husband and wife owned, independent practice. Since then we have grown and evolved into Banbury’s premier eye care centre, providing ophthalmic medical services for the NHS as well as eye examinations and emergency care. We are well known in the area as the “go to practice” for people with difficult prescriptions or poor eye sight. If you’ve got a problem, we’d love to help and if there is a solution we can provide it. All our glasses are still made on site by myself, Lee, a qualified optical technician.
