Deeside Wellbeing Collective A not for profit community wellbeing studio located in 11 Scott Skinner Square, Banchory.

Autumn 🍂 is the season of change…
Monday evening’s Gentle Yoga class from 18.15-19.15 sees a change from next week, with stepping back from teaching evening classes. But, we are delighted that Danielle .themwith.kindness will be taking over teaching this class!
It is a lovely evening class to take the edge off a Monday! & is usually a 50/50 mix of men and women. For booking please contact Danielle.

🍂 Join us this October for a Deeside Wellbeing Collective community session. A donation-based class held in a warm and welcoming community space. Just bring yourself, wear something comfy, and come as you are.

Octobers community offering is a Restorative Yoga session with Ali Yay4yoga

Restorative yoga is a grounding practise that helps reduce stress, by down-regulating the nervous system, lowering cortisol levels and promoting a release of feel-good hormones. Using
comfortable props to support the body, we invite a gentle surrender and tension release, contributing to physical healing and mental rejuvenation.

It offers benefits for all ages, fostering resilience, mental clarity and innermost joy amidst modern life's busyness. It allows time and space for introspection and deep rest, as the body is guided into a state of “homeostasis” - balance, renewal.
A balanced nervous system underpins all
wellbeing and optimal health. An hour of restorative yoga is said to equal around 4 hours sleep, but most also notice improved sleep after the session.

Expect simple guided breathwork and gentle meditative movement to help slowly settle into a place of “being” rather than “doing”; moving on to linger in poses, using props to feel fully “held”, for anything up to 20 minutes.

The session will be rounded off with a guided relaxation in supported Savasana pose, all tucked up with blanket and eye pillow. You need no prior experience or bendiness - just an ability to get down to the floor and an openness to gentle movement, tuning inwards and resting. Don’t worry if you have a fizzy mind, this style of yoga helps even the most active to find a balancing quiet.

Meet Ali! One of our weekly practitioners at the studio 🩷

Ali guides small group yoga classes, workshops, and mini retreats, featuring gentle hatha yoga, somatic style movement, and restorative yoga practices suitable for all experience levels.

With almost 40 years of personal yoga experience, certifications and trainings, Ali has nurtured a special interest in women’s wellbeing. She highlights the importance of finding the right practise for you at any given stage of life, tuning inwards, listening to what your body and mind are telling you.

She offers a heartfelt welcome, fostering a sense of openness, calm, and autonomy in your yoga practise, through movement, breathwork, connection and deep rest. Come as you are, leave a little more like yourself.

You’ll catch Ali at the studio on:
✨Tuesdays 9:30-10:30am for gently uplifting yoga for women
✨Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm for nurturing yoga for women
✨Occasional Sunday Serenity evening workshops

Community Preschool Yoga with Laura is back! 🦁

Join Laura Banchory Yoga for a special afternoon of yoga fun for both children and their grown ups. In an effort to make yoga more accessible, this is a donation based class. This will include songs, movement, breathing exercises and meditation. These activities will help the little ones express their feelings and learn to connect with their bodies. It is a wonderful opportunity for families to bond and engage together. Everyone is welcome to this community class making it a great way to meet others and enjoy a healthy, mindful activity. Recommended for age 3 to 5 year olds 💜

🌿 Gentle Hatha Flow Yoga 🌿

New class offering from

Tuesdays 11.15 - 12.15pm

Enjoy a gently paced Hatha flow in a welcoming small-group setting.

Each class begins with a light, active warm-up to ease the body into movement. From there, we’ll explore a sequence of flowing postures, including a few balance poses to gently challenge focus and stability. As we slow things down, we’ll shift towards stretches and grounding postures that support flexibility, mobility, and release of tension.

To close, you’ll be guided into an extended Savasana—often paired with a calming meditation—allowing body and mind to deeply rest and reset. You’ll leave class feeling grounded, restored, and refreshed.

This class is beginner-friendly and ideal for anyone looking to move mindfully, encourage flexibility and balance, and enjoy a moment of calm in their week.

We are delighted to have Heather Scott (Physiotherapy & Pilates) host our September Community Offering

'Pilates for All'

A mixed ability pilates class led by a physiotherapist and suitable for all levels of experience and abilities. We will spend a short time re-capping the key principles of pilates and why we practice pilates before we commence a gentle but challenging class. We will aim to target the key core stabilising muscles of the body including the deep abdominals, glutes, pelvic floor and upper body postural stabilisers. We will discuss the role of the breath in pilates and function of our core in everyday life.

A great opportunity to get a taste of pilates and get an insight to the benefits that could transfer to your everyday movement and function.

Finishing with a short relaxation to recover and re-energise before going on with the rest of your day.

This is a donation-based session held in a warm and welcoming community space. Just bring yourself, wear something comfy, and come as you are.

💥 NEW CLASS! 💥 Welcome Pilates mat instructor Suzanne .by.suzanne 🙌

Recently returning to Aberdeenshire where she is originally from, Suzanne was first introduced to pilates following the birth of her children in 2009, and fell in love with the benefits and how it made her feel, both physically and mindfully. Inspired by her own pilates instructor, Suzanne decided to move away from the corporate HR world and undertook comprehensive pilates matwork training, graduating in 2020.

With certification from the globally recognised APPI, Suzanne possesses in-depth knowledge of Pilates theory, exercises and teaching skills. This has led Suzanne to teaching pilates in Scotland, Azerbaijan, and Dubai.

Suzanne takes a personal approach to help clients achieve their own goals and believes pilates is for everybody, and every level. Pilates is Suzanne’s true passion and she can’t wait to share that with you at the Deeside Wellbeing Collective Studio.

We've had a wonderful Summer with our families (with a little work here and there 😁) we are feeling refreshed and raring to go!

Great team meeting today to catch up and to go over 'to do' lists. Sitting outdoors in the sun cafe makes work feel less like work ☀️👌
