Hello,

I would like to thank everyone who joined our sound circle last weekend.
Inspired by the Libra New Moon energies….we meditated about where in our life we can bring more balance and harmony. Thank you for your receptivity, openness and trust….

It’s lovely to be back after the summer break ( I just love this work) and I have booked the Logie Durno and Banchory Guide Lodge for the next few months – dates are coming tomorrow!

Another announcement is that Wendy Riley and I are planning another 1day retreat on the 21st of February 2026!
More information about that will be coming in few weeks time!

Hello, here is more information about the broken bowls, which Sam told us about on the retreat at the weekend.

Kintsugi is a Japanese art and philosophy of repairing broken ceramics by mending the fractured pieces with lacquer dusted with powdered gold, silver, or platinum, a technique that highlights, rather than hides, the breakage. The term means "golden repair," and the practice celebrates the history of the object and the beauty of imperfections, reflecting concepts of resilience and acceptance.

The Philosophy
Embracing Imperfection: Kintsugi transforms breakage from a negative event into an opportunity to create something new and more beautiful.

Highlighting History: The golden repairs tell the story of the object's life and experiences, emphasising its unique past.

Resilience: By mending the cracks with gold, the object becomes stronger and more beautiful, a metaphor for personal growth through past trials.

Respect for Objects: The practice aligns with the Japanese principle of mottainai, which discourages wastefulness and encourages valuing objects for as long as possible.
