Welcome to Bon Accord Hypnotherapy, based in Banchory in Aberdeenshire. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy takes a 3 pronged approach to supporting people with a variety of difficulties including:
- anxiety
- symptoms related to depression
- fears and phobias
- confidence and self-esteem
- irritable bowel syndrome
- sleep difficulties
- sports performance
- motivation and goal setting. My approach uses a powerful combination of Solution Focused Therapy, Brain Based Therapy and Hypnotherapy. My techniques are based on up to date research from neuroscience as well as the very best elements of cognitive behavioral therapy and Neurolinguistic Programming. Hypnotherapy uses the very natural state of hypnosis, or trance, experienced by us all daily, to create change at a subconscious level. It is very similar to day dreaming and you will remain completely in control throughout. You won't reveal any secrets, there will be no eating of onions, swinging of watches and certainly no clucking like a chicken! Your subconscious mind will become more open to positive suggestion and beneficial change, rejecting anything that is not in its best interests. This means it is very powerful therapeutically. Solution Focused Therapy – clients explore their preferred future and are supported in identifying the small, positive steps that will help move their lives forward. The past can’t be changed so we don’t focus on it. If you have experienced unpleasant events, we acknowledge they happened and help you get from where you are now to where you want to be. In this way, we will

- recognise where you are currently
- identify where you want to be
- help you to make the necessary changes to get there. Our thought processes can change. Every day is a new start, an opportunity to move forward in a positive way. The third prong, Brain Based Therapy, explains how our mind creates unwanted behaviours and symptoms and allows us to see how we can harness its power to work for, rather than against, us. We will explore our natural fear response as well as learning the powerful skills of positive thought and visualisation. Unfortunately there are no magic wands and several sessions may be required. It is a collaboration between you and the Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and commitment to the therapy is required. By working together, powerful change is possible though. Welcome to Bon Accord Hypnotherapy, based in Banchory in Aberdeenshire. I am a fully qualified and insured Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and have also undertaken additional training to become a Supervisor. This enables me to provide supervision for other therapists in Aberdeen City and Shire, as well as across the UK. I have recently joined the prestigious team of Senior Lecturers at the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training School (CPHT), a centre of excellence n the UK and provide the Diploma training course at CPHT Newcastle..
