What is a Mental Health Practitioner?

Good mental health is just as important as good physical health, maintaining it should be a priority for us all. One in four people will experience problems that affect their mental health. Those with mental health problems often face stigma and discrimination. The fear of these or
concerns about being judged can prevent people from getting help and can prevent them from living their life to the fullest. Often a few small changes may be all you need to improve or maintain your mental wellbeing.

Mental Health Practitioners are a new kind of health professional who works with your GP Practice to help improve your mental health & wellbeing. Mental Health Practitioners can provide you with a helping hand to achieve your mental health goals and access a wide range of services provided by the NHS, the local council, the community and the voluntary sector.
