Ear Wax Removal – Patient Information ℹ️

Ear wax is naturally produced to protect the ear canal.
When wax becomes impacted, it can cause symptoms including:
• Reduced or muffled hearing
• Sensation of blockage or fullness
• Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
• Discomfort or irritation

There are two clinically recognised methods of ear wax removal:
📍Microsuction
• Uses gentle suction under direct visualisation

📍Irrigation
• Uses controlled, low-pressure water to flush softened wax from the ear canal

A full assessment is carried out prior to treatment to determine the safest and most appropriate method for each patient.
