In loving memory of Caitlin Bowman (Katie)

It is with broken hearts and deepest sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved Caitlin, aged 11 - a shining superstar , and now a beautiful angel watching over us all.

Adored daughter of Jen and Paul, the best big sister to Poppy, granddaughter to Mamie, Peter, Jean and Derek and niece to Melanie, Andrew, Claire and David, and cherished by everyone who had the joy of knowing her.

Caitlin touched the lives of so many with her radiant spirit and boundless courage. She defied every odd placed before her, teaching us all what it means to live life to the fullest - with joy, bravery, impeccable music taste and fierce love.

Though her time with us was far too short, Caitlin’s light will forever shine in our hearts. Her strength and unstoppable spirit will continue to inspire us everyday.

A celebration of Caitlin's life will take place on Thursday 24th July at Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium at 1pm.

At the request of the family and a tribute to Caitlin please wear bright colours.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers to RiChmusic NI, The Gaitway Organisation and Clifton School can be made via cash or cheque (made payable to the charity/organisation) c/o of North Down Funeral Directors, 66 High Street , Bangor, BT20 5AZ.
online donations can be made via the following link

We will all experience grief in our life but for many people it's still a difficult or uncomfortable thing to talk about.
We want to change this. Whilst nothing can 'fix' grief, speaking more openly about our experiences can help.
If you're not sure what to say when someone is grieving, we have some suggestions on our website ⬇️

Inspired by the loss of my son

“Blue Bear & Co” has been created in memory of my son Charlie. I looked long and hard to find a teddy special enough to hold a voice recording of Charlie, a heart beat and a scent. This was not easy to find and the ones I did find, did not have all these functions or did not feel precious enough.

So, I set about trying to make my own, having never sewn before, I watched Youtube clips and was happy with the outcome for a first attempt! I filled it with Charlie’s voice, a heart beat and a mini plush which I infused with a scent that Charlie loved.

The sense of fulfilment was instant, it massively comforted me and not only did I have an instant connection with it, but Charlie’s siblings did too.

Following this I decided I wanted to create something that other people could also enjoy, a unique, luxury bear, which can be customised in the comfort of your own home, beautifully presented and lovingly made.

I came up with the name “Blue Bear & Co.” and the slogan “Bears for Life”, aptly named after my son’s beloved “Blue Bear” which accompanied him everywhere and is still very much a part of our family.

Luxury, bespoke bears, beautifully presented and lovingly crafted

“Blue Bear & Co.” are truly unique bears which can be a gift to a loved one or simply a treat for yourself.

They can be given to your loved ones for any occasion or no occasion…or just to show someone how loved they are.

The “Brown Bears” in particular stand head and shoulders above other plushies, not only are they 40cm but they can be customised in the comfort of your own home with a scent, a sound recording and each has a heartbeat.

They are the perfect companion, “Bears for Life”.
