Viking Voyages 🌎

We created our own 'board games' today based on a 'Vikings' theme.

Mixed media was used - pencil, crayon, stones and clay.

LIFEBOAT LEGENDS 🛟

⚓️ We've been celebrating the 200th birthday of the RNLI this week.

⛵️ In 200 years the RNLI has rescued approx 146,000 lives!!!

💒 Hosted by Groomsport Parish, local schools have created artwork to mark this special occasion whilst also raising awareness for this great charity.

🎨 Pop along to Groomsport parish to view all the wonderful art produced by pupils from local schools and to show your support for the volunteers who risk their lives everything they're called to a rescue.

Creating and Crafting

Mandy Makes is about classic and contemporary crafts promoting wellness and community through informal workshops both in local schools and in my own “Beach Hut” craft studio situated in Ballyholme.

My aim is to use sustainable, recycled and reused items where possible to create crafts in a fun and ‘creatively conscious’ way. The emphasis is on the “joy of making”, the process rather than the final product. I passionately believe that arts and crafts can benefit us holistically; giving us time to ourselves, to learn a new skill, to distract, to occupy, to focus our minds on tactile mediums, producing creations

to love or share. In hosting workshops I hope to encourage people to come together, connect, share ideas, inspire and best case, make like minded friends in a welcoming community of people.
