Autumn is well and truly under way and I love the transitional seasons. I feel like they are a time for new beginnings and change. Change isn't always easy!
Having a practice like meditation, breathwork and yoga can help you to navigate change by acting like an anchor to ground you, bringing you out of your thoughts and into your body.
However if that isn't possible right now, just try taking a walk and noticing, the changing colours on the trees, leaves falling, the smell in the air, birds starting to fly in formation. Just notice and appreciate what is around you, right now.

Full harvest moon tonight.....haven't spotted it yet!

Sun salutations are quite well known in yoga, did you know that there is also a moon salutation?

I must admit to loving a bit of both!

Step outside, see if you can spot the moon, give yourself the gift of a deep breath and the energy of letting go this evening, of anything that is holding you back.




🌕 Look up tonight! This isn’t just a full Moon—it’s a super one. That means the Moon is both full and at its closest point to Earth, making it appear up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than usual.

🌾 But wait—there’s more. It’s also a Harvest Moon, the full Moon nearest to the autumn equinox. Traditionally, this gave farmers extra light during harvest season.

📅 And here’s the twist:

Most Harvest Moons happen in September, but this one’s rising in October—something that’s only happened 18 times between 1970 and 2050.

🕯️ The last October Harvest Moon was in 2020. The next? Not until 2028.
The full phase officially occurs at 03:48 GMT on October 7. No matter where you are, try to catch the Moon low on the horizon just after sunset — that’s when it looks its most dramatic.

A peaceful mind....something that many of us struggle to achieve, as there are more and more distractions and worries in the world. When I first tried yoga aged 18, what struck me was that my mind chatter had settled down - I'd hardly ever experienced this in a 'class' setting, only out walking in nature, so it definitely got my attention.

What I love about our Haven teachers is that we now have a core of teachers who are from all different walks of life, with wonderful life experiences, who share their knowledge with enthusiasm and also to help people feel better, without pretention. Each teacher and each class may have a slightly different focus or you can set your own intention, either way it is your yoga, Chiball, Pilates, dance etc to come as you are and take from it what you need.
Some of our teachers also work with children, in the NHS, with charities, many have other life challenges going on, different interests or passions, be that nature, plants, animals, baking, fitness, reiki, they are all caring human beings who show up in everyday life to help others and they carry this through to their classes. I know if you come to any of our classes you are in good hands with people with the best intent for you and that you are made welcome.
Sometimes we offer workshops that delve a bit deeper and there are always opportunities to expand your journey too.
So thank you to all of our teachers who make the studio what it has evolved into.
