As someone who has watched their autistic brother grow up struggling with constant bullying, this is something really close to my heart. This independent film project will raise awareness about autism and the darker impacts of bullying and is crewed by people who have family members with autism, or themselves are on the spectrum. We all know the painful reality of this subject.

This government is .... even the announcement of the app was done with fanfare and was uplifting but it looks like that again, the government hasn’t joined the dotted line.

I wouldn’t do it as I don’t think it’s right and might be difficult to unteach, but there again I am lazy - but you decide- a mum who is struggling financially managed to get her son to finally eat rice by smothering it in chocolate spread. When I questioned her son’s eating she did mention he eats pasta with a tomato based sauce - so why not try that?
Would you do it? Or do you feel it would create another problem to solve in the future?

For Some... I have finally had it ... this is undoubtedly a rant.

Grow up people and realise it’s not about you, none of it is.

We seriously get tons of emails a months 30 on average month from parents mostly in the UK, 1-2 US and Australia.. all wanting to start a business - they all start pleasantly asking for an opinion on whatever their business idea is - my standard answer I have no viewpoints to offer... and then they get annoyed and ask or demand we share our supplier list and advertise their business- excuse me?
20 years ago we went out to do our market research and worked with ethical manufacturing to produce our designs.
I knew nothing about business or designing or anything about running a workshop, I spent 2 years researching and learning and protecting our intellectual property.

Neither I or Autism Awareness UK have any interest in teaching individuals how to run a business or how and where to buy their goods from, even if they are ASD parents.
When I say, I have no opinions I mean that - none - I don’t care - full stop.

If you were a SNs school or a social enterprise it would be a different matter we would do everything ensure that enterprise was a success but not individuals - this is why autismawarenessuk has never run a support group or registered as a charity. As long as we can carry on surviving and have enough to run our next campaign we are not interested in what parents get up to with their own lives our only interference comes when something is harming ASDs.

Now the abuse we get, for saying we can’t offer advice on startups nor are we going to do your advertising or research for you, is now beginning to get worse. The truth is I don’t care.

I have really lost patience with the sheer amount of abusive emails we have been getting during this lockdown, you might call yourself a warrior mum, let me tell you the truth - the real war is not being fought on the Internet or on your keyboard, the actual battle is in the streets, neighbourhoods -our own communities where discrimination is running rife and the right wing governments across the world are encouraging the rise of this hatred.
That real battle needs brave warriors.

We can’t wait for our PM to call an enquiry 2 years down the line we need and have to force an enquiry now. Write to your MPs and ask why so many disabled persons have died, personally I also want to know how conditions and standards of living helped in these deaths.
Let’s get some answers.

I have officially been told this - if you get hold of the social worker, they can officially inform the police your car registration number and you won’t be stopped within your county limits if you need to take your child to favourite places for exercise, I checked this information with North Wales, GMP and West Midlands just to be sure and all 3 confirmed that Social Workers are informing them and they will allow free passage as long as it isn’t abused. For exercise only as many times a day as is needed within county limits only.

Woohoo we can take our children out to all their favourite places! Edit- No we can’t! I just checked this out... the 2 meter rule has been the only one that has changed, all it means is carers can take the children out and stay close, and the children can go out more than once..
I advised wrongly you still have to stay locally..
So sorry.

Did you sign that petition I posted? Are you happy that some of OUR children will not be treated or nor even an attempt will be made to save them... this is serious folks, I might not know you personally but your ASDs are my wider family, I care for them as much as I care for my own, I wouldn’t be doing this if I don’t care - sign that petition and share it too - ASDs are not expendable they are the future.. please don’t let them cull us, we matter.
