Pure Motion Therapy

Pure Motion Therapy Level 5 qualified Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist offering rehabilitation, acupuncture, body maintenance, deep tissue massage, pre & post event work.

The idea behind Pure Motion Therapy is that whether you are injured, have gone a bit rusty or simply want to MOT your body, I will help you get back into 'motion'. The logo for Pure Motion Therapy is an unfurling fern frond. It is a known as a 'koru' amongst the Maoris and conveys the idea of perpetual movement and a return to the origin. Just as the 'koru' is a metaphor for how things change and yet stay the same, I use massage therapy to find an equilibrium for your muscles, even out imbalances and try to return your body to its original state of harmonious movement.

Apologies to all clients existing and new who found it really difficult this year to book in.

I've been studying TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) acupuncture this year in Cheltenham. There's been a lot of commuting, learning, 100s of hrs of case studies and many, many eureka moments but also lots of despair & stress.

There's still a quarter of the course left with some big exams in spring.

Hopefully, things will be easier and I'll have more capacity with a wider range of tools from summer next year onwards.

Can't wait! Thank you all for being patient and for your continued custom 🙏🏻

Where does the massage therapist go when she needs a treatment herself?

To Rebecca Sutton. To get a traditional Chinese massage (Tui Na) at Rebecca's treatment room at the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre.

And it was brilliant & effective. Firm but caring, deep yet flowing and it did me the world of good. If you're in that neck of the woods, you must book in with her!

Not to mention all the nice produce & items you can buy in the shop below.

It's elderberry season!

You have to cook them to make them safe to eat.
But once cooked, they have a lovely tart flavour & they are a great source of vitamin C as well as calcium.
They contain antioxidants to reduce inflammation and flavonols which lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. Their high fibre content - like that of most berries - lowers cholesterol.

I cooked mine with the last raspberries from the garden and added a spoon of local honey.

Keeps everyone's autumn lurgy away 👊🏻

Self-care is so important!
It's even more important when your income depends on it and your job is physical. Massage & my scoliosis do take a toll.

is helping me to bulletproof my body & strengthen my back. I can't thank Sherin enough for all her insight, expertise and infectious enthusiasm when it comes to strength training and increasing fitness.

As a female only gym, her unit is ideal for building confidence & trying out new things.

Hope you're all having a good August/September.

Pure Motion Therapy will be closed between the following dates:
20th - 24th August and
28th August - 8th September.

Trying to detox from the phone during the 2nd stint of holidays and will not be checking for messages, emails or phone calls during those times. So please be aware of this if you require some urgent body work.
There are plenty of good therapists in the area you could try instead: Anglesey Injury Clinic, Paula Shears or Adam Mitchell (physio).

Happy Holidays.

It's been a pretty busy year thus far. Chinese massage and Welsh foundation. Excited to have started the journey towards a more holistic Eastern medicine approach and to improve my Welsh.

I'm in for the long haul, though. It's only the beginning. 🙌

Touch can reduce pain, depression and anxiety, say researchers

Whether it is a hug from a friend or the caress of a weighted blanket, the sensation of touch appears to bring benefits for the body and mind, researchers say.
