📱💙 Introducing the Digital Hospital Passports on behalf of University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust 💙📱

BMG patients, do you, a family member, or someone you care for need extra support with communication or care needs while in hospital? 🏥
The new Digital Hospital Passports from University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) are now live and easy to complete online! 🙌

📝 What are they?
Digital passports help hospital staff better understand a person’s needs, preferences and how best to support them – whether it’s due to learning difficulties, dementia, sensory needs, being a carer, or being a veteran .

👣 How it works:
✅ Complete online using NHS number & date of birth
✅ Must be a known patient at UHMB
✅ Once submitted, patients can download or save their copy
✅ Copies are also automatically sent to:
🔹 UHMBT
🔹 The patient’s named GP at Bay Medical Group

We’ve been supporting residents facing financial hardship due to the rising cost of living through funding from the the Department for Work and Pensions.

The Household Support Fund is delivered in partnership with North Lancashire Citizens Advice and offers longer-term assistance for essential needs such housing costs and household appliances.

Households who may have already received an award since 1 April 2025 may now also apply for an extension to help with food or utility costs over the winter months.

Residents aged 16 and over living in the Lancaster District who are struggling financially can now apply online at https://loom.ly/zISwIa0 or by calling 01524 582000 (option 7).

Here’s the important bit:
✨ Omeprazole has NOT been withdrawn.
✨ We still consider it safe when used appropriately.
✨ If you’re not having side effects, there’s no need to book a GP appointment just to discuss it.
✨ Your routine medication review — or a chat with your local pharmacist — is usually the best place for questions.

As winter pressures rise, this really helps us keep appointments available for those who need them most. Thank you for your understanding and support 💙

It's today!!! Come down to More Music in Morecambe between 10.30am and 12.30p for loads of advice, info and of course TRFB treats!! :)

C.H.A.T.S parent carer peer support group is hosting their second Connections Fair this Thursday (20th Nov) at More Music in Morecambe 10.30am - 12.30pm.

There will be over 30 local services and businesses there ready to answer your questions from benefits to energy, education to kids events and clubs! It is the biggest gathering of services in the area and of course no C.H.A.T.S event is complete without some TRFB bakes to share!

So come along, get some info and enjoy a free brew and treats! There might even be some of my new treats making a first time appearance there too!! 🙂
