📣 Important Update: Support for the 8am Rush – Meet EMMA

We’re always looking for ways to improve your experience with our practice, especially during the busy 8am period when many of you are trying to get through to us.

We are currently in the soft-launch phase of EMMA, our new QuantumLoop AI Patient Assistant, designed to help manage morning call volumes more efficiently. This means that when you call us, you may be greeted and supported by EMMA.

We are pleased to announce that EMMA’s official launch date is 31st January 2026. Please note that testing will continue after this date, so at times your call may still be answered by one of our team members instead.

What EMMA Does:

📞 Answers phone calls with care

📝 Helps you complete triage/contact us forms

👩‍⚕️ Directs you to the right clinician or admin team

⏰ Reduces the 8am rush

This is part of our commitment to making it easier for you to access the care and support you need, without the frustration of long wait times in the morning.

We appreciate your support as we introduce this new service and continue to improve how we care for you.

Today, our colleagues Adam (Barnet Friends Coordinator), Colin and Asmina from the Primary Care Group attended the Babyzone Winter Wellbeing Event at Unitas Youth Hub, to promote Barnet Friends and raise awareness of the incredible work delivered by the Primary Care Group, with over 70 people in attendance.

Barnet Friends provide telephone befriending to lonely adults aged 18-55. If you are experiencing loneliness and either, live, work, or study in Barnet, self-refer today to be matched to one of our friendly Befrienders for weekly telephone calls to reduce loneliness and feelings of social isolation

Accessing NHS services during strike action - information for patients

When strike action is taking place, it is important that patients who need urgent medical care continue to come forward as normal, especially in emergency and life-threatening cases - when someone is seriously ill or injured, or their life is at risk.

Patients should continue to attend booked appointments, unless they are contacted and told otherwise.

Patients should only call 999 if it is an emergency (when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk). Ambulances will still be able to respond in these situations, but this may only be where there is an immediate risk to life.

Where the situation is not life-threatening, support will be available through NHS111 online or by phoning NHS 111.
