Menopausal dysregulation is real and you’re not alone.

Hot flashes, night sweats, anxiety, happy, sad even angry in the space of 30 minutes?
Yes? For many women, menopause brings unexpected emotional changes, and emotional dysregulation can be one of the most challenging.

If this sounds familiar, know this: you’re not "going crazy". You’re navigating a major life transition that affects body and mind.

Menopause isn’t just physical, it’s emotional, too. Let’s open up about it and support each other. 💛

My name is Jenny Evans, and I’m a PhD researcher at Anglia Ruskin University. I’m currently conducting a study exploring how victim-survivors of sexual harm decide whether (or not) to disclose what happened to them, and what happens when they do. The study has received full university ethics approval and is now live.

The goal of the research is to help improve how both formal and informal support systems respond to disclosures of sexual harm, ensuring they are more compassionate, trauma-informed, and effective. I believe this may resonate with your service users and align with your organisation’s mission.

If appropriate, I would be incredibly grateful if you would consider sharing the survey through your social media channels and/or displaying a poster. I’ve attached:
• A few versions of the survey poster for ease of review
• A PDF version of the survey questions
• My ethics approval letter from Anglia Ruskin University

You can also find the survey shared via my LinkedIn profile: -evans-ba8585188
Or Bluesky:

I’ll be away from my inbox for a short time from 21st–27th July, so I may not be able to respond immediately to questions, but I’d be very happy to follow up once I return. If there’s someone else I should contact within your team, please feel free to forward this on.

The survey will remain open until mid-August, and any support in reaching potential participants would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you for your time and for all the important work you do.

Best Wishes,
Jenny Evans

Menopause is awful I am pretty sure we all agree with that! But we we are not talking about is different ways to combat the surge in feelings that seem to occur when we least expect it!
We have provided 3 top tips that we hope will help.

1. Breathe & Reset
Practice deep breathing or mindfulness for just 5 minutes a day. It calms your nervous system and reduces hormonal spikes. When these spikes happen try to breath deeply and know it will not last forever, it just a menopause moment!

2. Move Your Body
Gentle exercise like walking, yoga, or swimming can boost mood and lower stress hormones. Aim for 30 minutes, 3–5 times/week. It doesn't have to be the gym a good walk will help.

3. Talk It Out
You’re not alone! Chat with a friend, therapist, or join a menopause support group. Sharing helps normalise what you’re feeling not everyone feels the same but everyone feels something!

🧡 We Have a Wish and You Can Help Make It Come True 🧡

As a mental and emotional health charity, one of our biggest (and most surprising) yearly expenses is 🥁......tissues and therapeutic resources.
We provide a safe space for people to express their emotions, and as you can imagine we go through a lot of tissues and the resources help providing words when it is difficult to express the emotions our clients feel, but it adds up over £3,000 a year.

That’s why we’re turning to our community. If you’d like to support us, donating tissues or contributing towards the resources please click the link below that will take you to our wish list. Every gift helps us stretch our funds further

If there's one conversation we’ve all had in the last two weeks, it's about the weather. Though, to be fair, it was a bit chilly this morning on my walk! But would we even be British if we didn’t comment on the weather?
