Sign of adult burnout.
👉Reduced Performance or Productivity
What it feels like:
• Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
• Forgetfulness and decreased creativity
• Feeling like you’re not achieving enough, even when working hard

What to do:
• Break tasks into smaller steps: Tackle one thing at a time.
• Use time management tools: Try the Pomodoro technique or daily planning.
• Seek feedback or support: Sometimes fresh perspective or delegation helps relieve pressure.

62 referrals in October of which 22 came from word of mouth!

That means 22 people felt supported enough to recommend us to someone else. 🧡
It’s proof that when we talk openly about mental health, we help others find the courage to reach out.

Thank you to everyone who continues to share, support, and spread the message that it’s okay to ask for help.

This year we’ve heard from many organisations about the growing impact of waste in our country.
This Christmas, you can help reduce your footprint in a meaningful way.

🎁 Instead of sending a card, why not purchase a gift from our wishlist in the name of a loved one?
It’s a simple act that creates less waste and supports a good cause.

Last week was National Self-Care Week, did you find some time to practice self-care and be kind to yourself?
If you did, we’d love for you to share what you did in the comments, your ideas might inspire someone else!

If you didn’t get the chance last week, why not give it a go this week? It’s never too late to look after yourself.

Here are 3 simple ways to start:
🌸 Take a mindful walk and enjoy some fresh air
📵 Unplug for an hour and give yourself a screen break
📝 Write down three things you’re grateful for today

Remember — self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential. Take a little time for you!

Mental health matters, but not everything is a mental health disorder.

It’s okay to be sad.
It’s okay to be nervous.
It’s okay to wonder, “What am I doing with my life?”

Not every emotion needs a diagnosis. Sometimes, it just needs to be felt.

💭 My top tip: give yourself permission to feel, whatever that looks like. Emotions are part of being human, and they deserve space too.

If you’re struggling to make sense of them, therapy can be a great way to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface.

You don’t need to “fix” every feeling. You just need to feel it. 🧡

📚Book Recommendation
In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts: The award-winning guide to the causes of addiction – and how to heal it
Written by Dr Gabor Maté

The award-winning bestseller on the root causes of addiction – and how to heal it – from the author of When the Body Say No, Dr Gabor Maté

‘[Maté] is a healer to be cherished’ Naomi Klein, bestselling author of The Shock Doctrine

'One of the most important, wise and compassionate voices in the world on addiction. Everyone should read this profound book' Johann Hari, author of Lost Connections

What causes addiction? And how can we truly heal from it?

In his profound and compassionate book, leading voice in trauma and addiction recovery, Dr Gabor Maté, explores the psychology of addiction and the path to self-understanding and healing.

As one of the world’s most revered thinkers on the psychology of addiction, his radical findings – based on decades of work with patients challenged by catastrophic drug addiction and mental illness – are reframing how we view?all?human development.

In his groundbreaking work, now updated with a new chapter on the Opioid crisis, Maté takes a holistic and compassionate approach to addiction, whether to alcohol, drugs, s*x, money or anything self-destructive. He presents addiction not as a discrete phenomenon confined to a weak-willed few, but as a continuum that runs through (and even underpins) our society; not as a medical ‘condition’, but rather the result of a complex interplay of personal history, emotional development, and brain chemistry.

Distilling cutting-edge research from around the world, Maté avoids glib self-help remedies, instead promoting self-understanding as the first key to healing and wellness.

Blending personal stories and science with positive solutions, and written in spellbinding prose, In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts is a compassionate must-read that has transformed how we think about healing, trauma, and addiction.

We really value our partnership with schools, as we understand that funding can be challenging. However, these schools prioritise the mental health of their students, and it’s clear that the students truly value our therapists.
