This week, we are recommending a podcast which focuses on the hidden struggles when becoming a mother.

The host, Paul, collaborates with three women, Cher Lloyd, Georgia Kousoulou and Mel Robbins to have a conversation regarding their personal struggles with parenthood, which tends to be a topic not acknowledged. This ranges from struggles with PostPartum Depression, feeling you have lost yourself and feeling lonely in your journey as a mother.

We recently showed you our reception area as an introduction to our centre at Rephael House. Next, we would like to introduce our playrooms.

This is a space for children to have structured and safe sessions, expressing a language through play. Children tend to express how they are feeling often through play, through what they are playing with and how they are playing, encouraging a trained therapist to gain insight into their thoughts when a child may not be able to explain them with words.

At Rephael House, we have multiple playrooms with multiple different types of toys, enabling all children to be able to express how they feel and have the opportunity to solve problems they encounter.

Hot weather is fast approaching, and what better way to get people together than a BBQ? And a plus can be fundraising for a charity that supports those in need with therapy sessions.

This can be a way to bring people together, really be present in the moment and have a great day whilst doing something good. You can include activities such as:
- Cricket
- Tombola
- BBQ food

At the end of all of this, all proceeds can go to an amazing charity with a plus side of positive memories.

As we know, sleep is so important for our mental well-being. As well as improving our overall focus and concentration in our daily lives, it can help performance during big life moments such as exams.

Here are a few ways in which you may manage to get a good quality night's sleep:
1. Limit your screentime one hour before bed
2. Reduce light & noise before bed
3. If you can't sleep, get up, read a book, do a chore, and then try again
4. Deal with worry - talk to someone about any worries you may be having to relieve the cycle of having worries going round and round in your head

Sleep is necessary for human function, so make sure that you make good quality sleep a priority!💤

We have adult daytime appointments available from the beginning of June. Our evening slots are currently full and have a three-month wait, but we have freed up five daytime spaces. These appointments are available on a first come, first served basis.

Take 5 minutes to yourself!

If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stressed, the importance of taking time for yourself is significant, even if it is just 5 minutes. This may be spending time reading, listening to a podcast or doing something creative.

Here are a few ways in which you may feel rejuvenated after 5 minutes:
- Taking time doing crafts
- Reading a new book
- Set a timer to do that one task you have been meaning to do

Being realistic with this 5 minutes is important, while also making sure it is fufilling you.
