There's been an influx of new followers to the page recently, Hi! Welcome! Gems Home Help is a one man band providing an extra pair of hands at cheap as chips prices. Im a registered Personal Assistant with Barnsley Council and also a fully insured and DBS checked sole trader. I'm bookable for regular daily/weekly/fortnightly calls to help with meal prep, personal care, shopping visits, house cleans, or anything else to make life a little easier. My client base ranges from 20-60 year olds, busy mums to clients needing an extra pair of hands to maintain their independence as much as possible. There's literally no criteria on needing a helping hand every now and again! Gems Home Help is celebrating its 1st birthday in 2 weeks time 😬 12 whole months of pure graft and tears but it's been so worth it! ✨Job opportunity✨
I'm looking for a part time Personal Assistant to work along side me for a beautiful lady in Ardsley.
Hours to include every other weekend, a few evenings per week and to cover my holidays/sickness.
Duties: meal prep, light house work as and when needed, assistance in mobilising around her home, limited personal care.
Applicant must have a wicked sense of humor and a very caring, patient nature.
Will need to undergo a DBS (funded by BMBC) and ideally business insurance on your vehicle but not essential.

My little care company is 6 months old today 🥳 never in my wildest dreams did I expect this amount of love and trust from families who last year I didn't even know, never would I have predicted I could not only sustain myself and my children but could also bring my eldest along and pay her a wage, most of all never could I have imagined I could get this much pride and satisfaction from a job. I gained so many new family members this year and I'm eternally grateful to each and every one 🖤

💥Appreciation post💥
Thank you to everyone who has referred me to your friends and family this last couple of weeks. I'm truly humbled.
Iv always said from day 1 of starting this company I will never rush my clients, if you need an extra hour of my time, not a problem! I space my days out accordingly so we both have enough time to do what we need to do. This been said I am now temporarily closing my books for new clients til September when I can see how my work load will pan out after my wing man leaves me to go to college. I may even search for a bank member of staff if needed 🤞much love 🖤

So let's talk about the elephant in the room, embarrassment. This week iv had 2 families approach me for help, saying they're embarrassed they're not juggling everything on their own.
STOP, NOW 👊.
I will 100% make you nap with your baby while I deep clean your house, I will sit and eat with your Granny so you can catch up with your workload, I will absolutely collect your shopping and unpack it AND cook you a meal while you run around doing everything else life has thrown at you.
There is literally no judgement here, life is hard and we all need a helping hand every now and again wether we're 20 year old or 80 year old. Reach out, unload what you can. Life's too short to stress 🖤

Iv been a little quiet on here for the last few weeks. On Wednesday afternoon we lost a very special person who iv had the absolute pleasure of caring for since September last year. June was my very first client, she pushed me to leave my last company and set up on my own (then became insanely jealous when I gave other people my attention 😂). She would boast to everyone how she poached me from her brother, we laughed together, cried together, even swore at each other when she'd call me at 4am cos she was lonely and wanted a cuppa but we never left without saying 'I love you'. I was absolutely honoured (and petrified) when her family asked me to still care for her despite moving into a care home and receiving 24 hour care from their staff but I'd made a promise to her I would always be there, right until she closed her eyes for the final time. June was a remarkable woman who not only I adored but my daughter did too. Now she's together again with her beloved husband 🖤

Well that's a wrap on the busiest week on record at Home Help HQ 😴 this week I:

*attended the hospital 8 times (officially chief grape fetcher 👍)
* washed, dried and ironed a full wardrobe several times
*chased up 2 doctors home visits
*collected and delivered 1 prescription
*made more cups of tea than I can even remember
*visited and signed up 2 new beautiful families.

Here's to another productive week 🖤

So one of my lovely ladies will be moving into supported living within the next month which will free up a breakfast and lunch call Mon-Fri plus a few shopping/housework calls through the week. A little bit about me:
My background is primarily working with children and young adults with various complex needs and disabilities within education and residential settings. I adored this role for 15 years but all good things have to end eventually right? I decided at the end of 2021 to branch out into the care in the community sector working for a large domiciliary care company. Although I loved this role I was very constricted with the amount of time I could spend with each client as my days were jam packed full of different calls to attend. This led to feeling like I wasn't giving my absolute all to each person I visited 🥺 so here I am now, slowly building up my own client base with some very beautiful families, not rushing from house to house and absolutely loving the work that I do 🖤
