A trip to Thurstaston on the Wirral to check on a grave and headstone for a family. Stunning area on the Dee estuary. The grave you see is not the grave I was looking at but that of Thomas Ismay who was an owner of the White Star Line …. owner of the Titanic . Bit of a bu**er to park but worth the journey

A day out from the office and a very early start down to London this morning ,Westminster Public Mortuary , to look after a gentleman and bring him home to Yorkshire.

Small service at Holy Rood Catholic church Barnsley. If you’ve never been there here are some interior photos that doesn’t do it justice. I’ve been there countless times over the years but can always find something else that I haven’t seen before.

St John the Evangelist church Upper Denby to check out a headstone and grave . The song thrush was clearing his vocal cords after a long winter .

Saturday morning and burial of ashes into Silkstone church churchyard. Church was being cleaned by a dedicated cleaning crew… the church is full of history, worth the visit alone.

Have been meaning to put this up for awhile now . Looked after a funeral for a really nice guy and we got chatting ,during the arrangements , about one of his many hobbies. Fly fishing. He made all his own flies . A couple of weeks later these were brought into the office. Some of them are genuine names for flies… the other have been applied. All hand made and ready to use with the different sizes for different fish. Hoping to try one or two of them out at his fishing lake when the season starts.

Bi annual Funeral Trade Exhibition at Stoneleigh Park. good show and we will now be offering all the latest ”gear” 😁 Not tooo taken with some of the display items …but each to their own . Not sure the car reg plate either 🤔

Busy week, Tuesday a horse drawn and Thursday a motorcycle funeral… the person standing next to the bike is Anna my second in command, so if you phone and hear a different voice you can put a face to it .

A day out to St Wilfred’s church Monk Fryston . Built around 1080, so not that old 😳 … built out of the same stone as Selby Abbey… the quarry was situated at the back of this church , then onto the village cemetery, nice village except for the main Selby Road running straight through the village.
