Can you help?

We are launching our Santa shoe box drive earlier this year as this year we are hoping to get as much support as possible and help with collecting as many as we can to help out a charity that has a special place in our hearts here at Deangate.

This year we will be once again collecting shoe boxes for those residents that unfortunately have no family or friends that will be able to gift them with a present at Christmas.

We will also be collecting shoe boxes for Help 4 Homeless Veterans. Unfortunately there are so many veterans that are living on the streets and will not have anything at Christmas. This is where as a community we can come together and provide them with some extra this year.

Lets help those that have done so much for us 🫡

We have been down today to start collecting some of our wonderful boxes and bags from the Salvation Army Donation Centre Barnsley thank you so much to the staff, volunteers and Lewis branch manager for everything that you have done so far and for the shoes boxes that are yet to come.

We would like to wish our resident veteran Bill Dyson a very happy birthday 🎂.

Bill was extremely emotional this morning and needed a bit of encouragement to join in with his own birthday celebrations.

Eventually after some coaxing bill turned up for his celebrations and was greeted by a rousing chorus of happy birthday from his fellow residents.

We presented Bill with a framed picture for his bedroom of when he attended a special 80th Ve day celebrations that Quilts for The Longest Day held.

He have had a surprise visit from 2 familiar faces, thank you for his gift and card. Bill is making light work of the John Smiths!

Thank you for taking the time to come a wish Bill a very happy birthday 🎉🎂.

Thank you to the Barnsley veterans groups that sent Bill birthday wishes in spades.

Bill was so surprised to see Anne and Helen that presented him with another crate of John Smith's a wonderful cake and card on behalf of the Barnsley veterans breakfast club.

Then last but no means least Mandy and Ray 2 local veterans that Bill knows from the breakfast club. Came along with you guessed it another crate of John Smith's! And card from them and Si.

Happy birthday Bill we hope you have had a wonderful day 🫡

We had 2 independent judges Mark and Stacey that picked 3 winning designs.
