What’s Hatha Yoga?

Hatha (which translates as ‘Force’) is a general yoga class that typically involves physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama ) and relaxation (yoga nidra).

Hatha Yoga, which originates from India and dates back thousands of years, is about balancing the body and mind. ‘Ha’ represents the Sun and ‘Tha’ represents the moon. The practice of Hatha Yoga aims to unite these two energies.

At Yoga Bee, the Hatha Yoga classes are varied - no two weeks are the same. Some sessions may be quite energetic and others more gentle. Most classes will have a theme or focus, for example a particular posture or phases of the moon.

The classes are suitable for most abilities. All classes can be adapted to the students’ requirements with modifications, alternatives & props always being offered.

Yoga Bee will be opening her doors again TODAY and welcoming everyone back after the Christmas Holiday and hopefully welcoming a few new faces too. 😊🧘‍♀️🐝

We will be easing nicely into January and the new year with our regular classes and also a few extra events to help us feel that little bit more special.

⭐️ 9th January our next 6 week block of Nutrition Bees begins to kickstart our healthy eating & activity plan and get us in shape for the new year. 🥗 💪

⭐️16th we have a professional personal stylist & consultant coming into the studio to offer us some advice on how to look our best & add a little bit of sparkle to our wardrobes. ✨

⭐️23rd is our Book Club Meeting. We read some wonderful books in 2025 and had some even more wonderful meetings 📚🥂I’m looking forward to what the Book Club has in store for 2026. 😊

⭐️24th is our next Walking Group meeting. Location tbc but like all our walks, the surroundings will be amazing, the company great and the pub/cafe after will be an added bonus. 🚶‍♂️

⭐️29th will be the first Yoga Nidra Session of 2026. A wonderful way to unwind, recharge & reset. An evening of bliss 😊💕

⭐️30th will be the first Sound Bath of the year. These sessions are extremely popular and usually sell out straight away so if you’d like to join us, get in touch asap.

🧘‍♀️Yoga Nidra (Guided Relaxation) at Yoga Bee🧘‍♀️

This blissful class is held on the last Thursday of every month and will consist of 30 minutes Yin Yoga followed by 40 minutes Yoga Nidra.
The underfloor heating will be on, the candles lit and the bolsters & blankets out. Heaven 😊

⭐️Next session Thursday 27th November 7-8:15pm.⭐️ £8.

A ritual of self-care and holistic healing, Yoga Nidra uses a collection of time-tested techniques to help the practitioner experience a mind state often referred to as “peace beyond words”. Yoga Nidra is a practice of non-doing. We need only to listen to the meditation instructions that guide us through a systematic letting go of tension.
