One thing you can be certain of… life will always be busy, and stress will always be present.

Life, work, family, things coming up, it never stops!!

We have this idea that one day it’ll all calm down and that’ll be the perfect time to focus, to get back on track, to finally make progress without finding excuses for yourself.

TRUTH

IT WON’T HAPPEN!!!

There is just NOW, and what you choose to do with it.

If you’re always waiting for life to be easier or more convenient, you’ll always be stuck in this loop of starting and stopping.
You’ll be someone who constantly lives under the shadow of your excuses!

I get it, things do come up and sometime unexpectedly – that’s normal.

BUT

If you want results, you must show up even when it isn’t ideal and sometime when it is downright inconvenient.

You must be consistent enough to move forward even when life is trying to push you back.

Success is rarely luck but resilience!!

So even when you are having a tough week, don’t let it beat you!

Do that workout
Choose that healthier option
Take that walk
Don’t let excuses become your pattern!!

If you're not getting results, ask yourself "are all the layers of this pyramid in place and in the right order?"

If not, you have to be honest with yourself!
Go back to basics!

If you're not losing fat, your calorie deficit is not consistent!

If it is consistent, then you're not moving enough!

If you're ticking both of those boxes consistently, not just for a week or even a month, then you can look at other layers but don't underestimate the necessity of getting the foundations right!

People don’t fall away when things go bad.

They fall away when they don’t know what to after the slightest blip!

Miss a training session.
‘Oh no, I’ve failed’
Panic and give up!

Eat off-plan.
‘Oh no, I’ve ruined my diet’

Either
Over correct by trying to starve yourself for a few meals.
Overtrain to burn it back off.
Or worse case, let one nutrition discrepancy be a weak excuse to eat everything for days/weeks on end.

Busy Week.
Scrap the plan and start again on Monday when life’s easier (It won’t be, it never is)

Your reactions can cause more damage than the mistake itself.

Instead, plan and choose your response

Look at your most common “mistakes” and write down the rational solutions/reactions to them.

“If X happens, I will do Y.”

Miss a workout
I will train my next scheduled session the next day and get back on track. (Get straight back in to the routine and maintain a good habit)

Busy week
I’ll shorten my training sessions, I won’t skip them. (This maintains the habit and keeps you in the game)

Social event
Normal on plan meals either side. (Again maintain the habits and get back on track straight away)

No emotion.
No negotiation
Just actions and solutions!
Nobody is perfect, it is just that some respond differently to others.

That’s the difference between making a slip up, exactly that ‘choosing’ it to be, ‘just a slip up’ OR ‘choosing’ it to become a complete restart.
