🎉 Celebrating 25 Years of Dedication – Lindsay’s Nursing Journey 🎉
Lindsay began her nurse training in 1997, when the current Education Centre was still the School of Nursing. As an 18-year-old with no prior healthcare experience, the early days felt daunting but she quickly found support and built lifelong friendships with her cohort and the nursing teams she worked alongside.
After qualifying, Lindsay’s first post was on Ward 20, specialising in Stroke and Gastroenterology, a ward that still holds a special place in her heart. In 2002, she became a Nursing Sister on Ward 19 and spent the next decade supporting a range of medical wards, including newly opened areas and those facing increased winter pressures.
In 2012, Lindsay followed her passion for hands-on clinical care and stepped into the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist in Continence Care, a role she continues to thrive in today. What began as a part-time, single-person service has grown into a team of three full-time registered nurses.
“Each day brings new challenges and rewards,” Lindsay says, “and the opportunity to support both inpatients and outpatients continues to bring immense job satisfaction.”
Lindsay’s commitment, compassion, and leadership have made a lasting impact on both patients and colleagues. We’re incredibly proud to celebrate her 25-year journey. A true testament to dedication and care in nursing. 💙
