                                            If you want to get involved in supporting grassroots sport in Barnsley, then the Barnsley Road Club , cyclo cross race needs marshals and volunteers to help out. The race is round 4 of the Yorkshire Cyclo-Cross Association winter series, and it's a great event for the borough.

Event Date: Sunday 9th November 2025
Venue Access & Setup: Saturday 8th November 2025
SATURDAY 8TH NOVEMBER – COURSE SETUP & PREPARATION
08:30 – 09:00 Collect Equipment from Yorkshire CX HQ
10:00-12:00       CX Coaching at the Stack for Junior Members
12:01-14:00 Course Marking and Layout
Position course stakes, tape, barriers, and signage.
Mark hairpins, off-camber sections, start/finish line, pits, and spectator areas.
SUNDAY 9TH NOVEMBER – RACE DAY OPERATIONS
07:00 – 08:30 Final Preparations & Marshall Briefing
Course inspection and repairs if needed (overnight weather check).
Radio and safety equipment distributed.
Marshall briefing: roles, timings, emergency procedures.
08:30 – 09:00 Registration & Sign-on Opens
Riders collect numbers, timing chips, and receive race info.
Commissaires’ checks and event announcements.
09:00 – 15:45 Race Programme in Operation
Marshals at designated posts (rotate for breaks).
Results processing, announcements, and medal presentations ongoing.
Course maintenance between races if needed (tape repairs, section clearing).
15:45 Final Race Finish & Course Closed to Riders
Confirm all riders off course.
Debrief marshals and begin take-down.
16:30 – 18:00 Course Take-Down and Site Clear-Up
Collect tape, stakes, signs, barriers, and fencing.
Remove banners, litter-pick, and restore site to original condition.
Check for lost property and confirm all equipment returned to store.
18:30 – 20:00 Social at Spiral City
