Why do you walk?

Everyone has their own reason for walking, and this week we’re starting Walk This May by celebrating exactly that.

For some it’s about fresh air and time outdoors, for others it’s a chance to clear their head or spend time with others.

We headed to Locke Park to listen to local people share their reasons for walking🌻

It was great to see a good turnout for the Barnsley Bike Works FREE bike checks as part of the Barnsley 'Little Green Market' at Wombwell. This is the first of the May Community sessions. Come and see us if we are near you, and get ready to cycle into summer.

This May, we’re celebrating walking. Walking is one of the simplest ways to Move More. Live Well. Feel Better.

We’re proud to champion walking all year round, but throughout May we’ll be shining a spotlight on a different part of walking each week!

From local routes to walking groups, we’ll be sharing inspiration, local stories and walking opportunities.

It was great to host walk leader training last week, with 9 people joining us🚶

Those on the training got the chance to learn about planning routes and how to set up a walk in their local area, with new walks coming soon!
