Unfortunately I had a bereavement last week, with my dad passing away.

Sometimes Physiotherapy is not only about the physical, but mental aspects of goals & wellbeing. This week I embraced getting out in nature with one of my clients. We needed to tackle confidence with mobility, increased distances & uneven terrain. Wholeheartedly embraced up the hill, a rest at the top to have a chat & watch the goats. Mission accomplished ✅
Outside mobility ✅
Balance & uneven terrain ✅
Increased distances ✅
A good cardiovascular workout & good deep breathing ✅
Nothing technical, just what the patient needed .. never forget the person 😊

Starting next Tuesday (1 October), we will be running community drop-in sessions every Tuesday in Stairfoot and Worsbrough for adults living with a progressive life-limiting illness.

These sessions will share support, advice and education from our dedicated team and create an opportunity to socialise with others in similar situations. Each week will involve different activities ranging from social chat, crafts, relaxation and practical self-care.

Attendees must be aged 18 years or over, live within the catchment area and be registered with a Barnsley GP, but can be joined by carers, family and friends.

We will have two sessions every Tuesday:

🧡 10.30 am - 11.30 am at Stairfoot & Ardsley Constitutional Club Ltd, 466 Doncaster Rd, Barnsley, S70 3PW1.

🧡 1.30 pm - 2.30 pm at The Worsbrough Centre, Powell Street, Barnsley. S70 5NZ.
