Happy International Nurses Day 🤍
Today feels like a good moment to reflect on what nursing has given me, not just as a career, but as the foundation for how I practise every day.
My background in nursing has shaped everything about the way I work in aesthetics. The assessment, the decision-making, the education, the ethics, the prescribing responsibility, and the understanding that every treatment carries a duty of care.
Aesthetic nursing is sometimes underestimated because it doesn’t always look like traditional nursing.
But the principles are the same. We still assess, we still listen, we still manage risk, we still educate patients, and we still need to understand medical history, medications, suitability, consent and complications. And we still have to make decisions that put patient safety first.
That is why I take prescribing and prescription-only treatments so seriously in clinic.
It should never be treated casually. Patients deserve proper assessment, honest advice, and care that is safe, legal and appropriate for them.
I’m very proud to be a nurse, and I’m proud to practise in a way that keeps those nursing values at the centre of everything I do.
Happy International Nurses Day to every nurse, in every setting, doing work that matters 🤍
