Happy Mothering Sunday to all our wonderful residents, families and friends at Swimbridge House 🌸

Today we celebrate the many forms that mothering can take — the kindness, patience, guidance and care that people share with others throughout their lives. Whether through family, friendship or everyday acts of support, these moments of nurturing make our Home so special.

We are grateful to the loved ones who support our residents and to those whose care and wisdom have shaped the lives of others over the years.

A very special thank you as well to our fantastic team members. Your compassion and dedication bring comfort and warmth to our residents every day, and we truly appreciate everything you do.

This week we’ve been celebrating the wonderful women who are part of our Swimbridge community for International Women’s Day & Mothers Day this upcoming Sunday which we are all very much looking forward to 🌼

Our “Wall of Our Women” has been a lovely way to share memories and stories. Residents have enjoyed sharing stories about the women who influenced them, reflecting on family memories and the roles women have played in shaping their lives. It has also been a wonderful way for staff and families to learn more about the personal histories of those who live here.

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day 💜 At Swimbridge House, we are proud to be surrounded by inspiring women — from the wonderful residents who share their life stories and wisdom, to the dedicated staff who bring kindness, compassion and strength to our home each day. Our incredible team includes our Managers, Nurses, Senior Carers, Carers, Housekeeping, Catering, Well-being and our Reception and Admin staff — all working together to make Swimbridge House feel like home 🥰💐

Today is a chance to celebrate their achievements, resilience, and the positive impact they continue to have on the world around them.

Warm welcoming home where everyone matters

Swimbridge House Nursing Home is a 44-bed purpose-built nursing home, for those over 65, with an emphasis on a high standard of care.

The Home offers nursing, residential and respite care, where the physical and mental well-being of each resident is looked after in a warm and welcoming environment. We also specialise in dementia care and are accredited for the ‘Six Steps’ End-of-Life Care.

We work closely with the families of those who live with us to ensure they are involved in planning the care we provide and keep them informed of their family member’s progress. Our highly trained and dedicated Staff have a ‘One Team’ approach to put the residents at the centre of all they do and provide a home from home environment. The management and owners are all involved in the day to day running of the home and know each resident and staff member personally.

The Home is registered with the Care Quality Commission and is rated as ‘Good’. We are situated just outside the North Devon village of Swimbridge in a scenic rural setting, in between the regional centre of Barnstaple and South Molton.
