The Autumn weather has well and truly arrived, but there was nothing gloomy about our latest Wellbeing Day. The reception team have yet again brought their excellent baking skills in today.

Our Wellbeing Days are all about encouraging each of us to take a short 15 minute break, step away from our busy schedules and connect with our incredible Brannam colleagues.

Since COVID, it's been easy to slip into quick-break routines, so we're making space to slow down, chat and reconnect. After all, a good conversation (and a slice of cake) can brighten any day!

Get inspired to step outside with our Green Guide!🌿

Spending time in nature boosts our health and there are so many ways we can do this.💚

Woodlands, parks, gardening, outdoor sports, art, volunteering, photography, wildlife conservation, nature documentaries, national parks, nature-based therapy, crafts, allotments, animal care and beaches.🏞

Big, small, near and far – it all counts! ✅️

And we are lucky to live in beautiful north Devon where we have so many amazing spaces and opportunities right on our doorsteps. With many activities being free or low cost to do!🌳

Would you like to find out about the nature-based activities in our local community?🌱

Then check out our ‘Green Guide’! https://barnstaplealliance.co.uk/green_guide.php

Our Green Guide forms part of our Pathway Prescriptions program, which aims to help you find ways to spend more time outside in nature to boost your health.🌻

Introducing the Practice Charter

From 1 October 2025, Brannam Medical Centre is following a new Practice Charter, written by the British Medical Association (BMA).

The Charter aims to be clear, open, and honest about our services – both what we would like to offer every patient and what funding, demand, and other considerations allow.

It also explains how changes in the GP contract and government policies may affect patients and practices.

The Wheels of Ananda CIC is starting a free 60+ Mindful Wellbeing weekly group from Monday 3 November at Barnstaple library from 1000-1130.

This is gentle, inclusive and accessible movement that really works: Using chair yoga, qigong, somatic bodywork, breath-work and relaxation, so you truly feel the benefits from the first session. It's suitable for everyone, and can often help you to manage the symptoms of other physical and mental health conditions.

If you come along regularly, you'll really notice improvements in mobility, balance, vitality, flexibility and wellbeing, also enjoying being part of a friendly, welcoming group - and yes, there is coffee/tea and biscuits after for those who wish!

Do get in touch with Naomi on 07985 337 402 if you'd like to come along, or else just turn up on the day.

Everyone who is 60+ is welcome, whatever your starting point!
