📢 New book launched 📢

"Give me a break - How to take time out as an unpaid carer"

Devon Carers at Westbank know how important it is for you to take a break from your caring role when possible. They also recognise that not everyone can take a long break, such as a holiday or a few nights away, from the person you support.

A newly launched book by their parent organisation Westbank Community and Care called 'Give me a break', focuses on alternatives for taking time out from just 30 minutes to a few hours.

Regular pauses can make a big impact on your mental and physical health. From deep breathing, journaling, listening to a podcast, attending online exercise classes to crafting, wild swimming, joining a club or learning a new language, all of these can give you quality time to yourself.

Get your copy by visiting one of the awareness events or at one of the face-to-face Peer Support groups held across Devon. Watch out on socials for upcoming events of where you can pick yours up from.
