The BAcC highlights the crucial, often underestimated role, that BAcC member acupuncturists can play in addressing the profound challenges facing UK healthcare.

Integrating highly trained and Professional Standards Authority (PSA) accredited traditional acupuncturists is not just an alternative, but an evidence-based, cost-effective, and patient-centred solution, essential to the future success of the NHS.

For the safety, efficacy and informed consent of patients in the UK please sign this and share it to make ‘Acupuncturist’ a protected title. 3600hrs minimum training as set out by the World Health Organisation’s basic training recommendations, not a minimum of 8hrs… this recommendation is being walked over by the chartered society of physiotherapists and the General chiropractic council in the UK.

I’ve seen two punctured lungs at the hands of those only trained in dry needling/medical acupuncture and clinical acupuncture (and all the other made up names to legitimize itself). This injury is life threatening. Please help as campaign for the safety of the public.

British acupuncture council conference went well! I have to write an article and speculate on an offer of lecturing! Which is both flattering and exciting! For now though managed to voice a much needed request to look into acupuncture being a professional title.

This would result in many pluses for us and the patient, namely proper informed consent. While physiotherapists, chiropractors gp’s and osteopaths alike are allowed to freely roam around making out like they have more training then they do. When they only have a minimum of 8hrs tuition. (Vs 3600hrs).

There’s Acupuncture and there’s MSK needling. (Musculoskeletal). One is a complete system of medicine, treating the nervous system; hormones, inflammation, circulation and immunity. The other a mode of treatment used to treat limited conditions like msk pain and sports injuries.
