Stand Up To Cancer – 12th September 2025
Today we are standing together for everyone whose lives have been touched by cancer.
Cancer is something that affects us all – statistics show that nearly 1 in 2 people born in the UK in 1961 will receive a cancer diagnosis during their lifetime. At PH Care Group, we know too well that cancer does not only affect the person receiving the diagnosis, but also their families, friends, and the wider care teams who walk alongside them.
For our residents living with dementia, a cancer diagnosis can be particularly challenging. Memory loss, confusion, and communication difficulties can make it harder to understand and process what is happening. This is why person-centred care, patience, and open conversations with loved ones and professionals are so important.
Today, we want to show our support for:
Residents living with cancer and dementia, ensuring they continue to feel safe, respected, and understood.
Families and friends who provide love and strength in difficult times.
Our incredible employees, some of whom have faced their own diagnoses or supported loved ones through treatment.
By standing together, sharing our stories, and supporting one another, we can make a difference. Cancer may change lives, but compassion, community, and care ensure that no one faces it alone.
