Taking care of your mental health is an act of self love; you are worthy of peace and happiness, and there is no shame at all in reaching out 🩷

It can be tough.
It can be scary.
It can even feel wrong.
But it isn’t

Your mental health is as important as your physical health - never forget that! ❤️‍🩹

A moment of appreciation 📣!

Thank you so much to everyone who has provided much needed funds to us in 24/25 💪

We cannot stress enough how necessary funding is to ensure we can provide a service for those in need, and it’s YOU who ensure we’re here 🩷

Below is just a snapshot; we are also incredibly grateful to all who have made personal donations, completed fundraisers, volunteered to help us and provided support in any way ✨

Did you know? 💭

Around a quarter of people who die by su***de have been in contact with Mental Health Services.

For many, they were letdown.

This could be for many reasons - but crucially, funding (or lack of) plays an enormous role in this.

When we say that all donations count, whether that be £10 or £100, we mean it.

That donation will go towards a service that could well (and has before) save someone’s life 🫂

At Spring North, we lead the PATH Parent Support Service a programme across Lancashire and South Cumbria that helps parents and carers when a child is struggling with their mental health or emotional wellbeing.

We work with trusted local partners to offer a range of support options, tailored to the needs of each area:

🟣 Blackpool – Lancashire Mind runs online drop-in sessions for parents, with private one-to-one bookings available every Friday

🟣 Blackburn with Darwen – Child Action Northwest provides both online and face-to-face sessions, offering flexible support for local families

🟣 Central Lancashire – Key Unlocking Futures hosts in-person sessions every Monday, with online options for those who prefer to join from home

🟣 North Lancashire & South Cumbria – SAFA Cumbria leads weekly online sessions every Thursday, focusing on a range of mental health topics relevant to parents and carers

🟣 East Lancashire – PAC - Positive Action in the Community runs sessions across the region, with up-to-date details and booking information available online.

We know how tough it can be when your child is finding things difficult PATH is here to offer practical help and emotional support when it’s needed most.

Self Care Sunday 🧖‍♀️

Self Care is not Selfish.
It’s necessary! 🩵

Do something today to make you feel cared for; 🩷
Whether it’s having a bath 🛁
Going for a walk 🚶‍♀️
Watching a cheesey film 🎥
Settling down with a book 📖

An act of self-care a day is needed and deserved! ✨

Sometimes you may question why services like ours are needed. Why do you require so much fundraising? Surely there can’t be that many people reaching out? 🤔

To put things into perspective:
⚫️ we had 366 new referrals in the first 44 weeks of 24/25
⚫️ this is an average of 8.18 people a week
⚫️ which is a massive 34% increase in referrals compared the last year

Now think about it;
Those numbers are not just numbers
They are PEOPLE.

People with lives
With loves 💓
With jobs and hobbies
🫂 With families to support
And supporting them
They are children and teenagers 🧒🏼
Trying to start their lives but facing unimaginable difficulties

They are people crying out for specialist support - and that is why we are here, and why we will continue to be here

Let’s Talk About Self-Harm 🗣️

If you were asked what you think self-harm entails, chances are you would go straight to ‘physically harming yourself’, wouldn’t you? 💭

Whilst this is the case for some, Self-Harm is much broader than that.

Self-Harm can also be:
⚫️ Disordered eating, purging, limitations and restrictions
⚫️ Risky behaviours, including physical and sexual
⚫️ Neglecting your basic needs e.g hygiene
⚫️ Abuse of drugs including alcohol
⚫️ Over-exercising, exerting your body beyond its limits
⚫️ Social withdrawal

If you’ve a question about self-harm, whether general, or related to yourself or someone you care about - please don’t stay silent.
