What work are you doing to prepare for this??

Unfortunately hoping / wishing for a positive birth won't guarantee you get one.

Entering birth you should feel empowered, fully informed and as "fear free" as possible...
During your pregnancy is the perfect opportunity to highlight your fears, educate yourself around birth, and change your mindset in preparation for birth and parenthood.

Fears around birth arise for many reasons...
▫️Previous experiences
▫️Fear of the unknown
▫️Other people's negative experiences

All fears can be broken down into smaller factors that you will have some element of control over during your birth...identifying these elements will give you a sense of empowerment, and reduce fear significantly.

▫️Do you have the knowledge and support to do this effectively??
▫️Would you benefit from 1-1 support and guidance to work through your fears with a qualified midwife
▫️Do you need educating around birth to help empower you to have a positive birth experience?
▫️Have you had a previous negative experience and want to work on making this birth more positive?

💫 What is a “positive birth” experience…

There is a big misconception that a “positive birth” must be the “perfect birth”

Someone who has had a positive birth experience usually feels well informed, in-control and empowered during their birth.
Women can have the most straightforward textbook vaginal birth... but if they did not feel in-control or listened to during their birth they will most likely view this as a negative experience.
Alternatively, if a birth has several deviations…with the right mindset and support this can still be an empowering positive experience.

🤍 Birth prep....
Preparing for your birth and mindset work during pregnancy will have huge implications to whether your birth experience will be positive.
When thinking about your birth preferences, consider how you want to “feel” during your birth, rather than the focus just being on what you want to happen.
Educate yourself on the possible deviations, be aware of your choices and enter birth fully informed, and focus on the things you can control during birth.

Do you feel fully prepared, informed and excited about your upcoming birth?? If not then keep reading...

Lots of focus goes into preparing women for labour, but how are we preparing and empowering women for a positive planned casarean??
Women are often left feeling that their ability to "plan" their birth has been taken away from them.

Birth is birth no matter what route we take and there are lots of things that can be done to prepare you for a cesarean birth and make it personalised to you.

I will be hosting a live "positive casarean birth" workshop tonight at 7pm to chat anything cesarean birth to ensure you feel prepared and empowered for your upcoming experience.

I am so excited to be launching my new face to face antenatal classes “empowering positive birth”.
I am a qualified midwife, hypnobirthing teacher and complementary therapist. My main aim within these classes is to support, educate and empower women and partners to have a positive birth experience...

▫️To have a positive birth you need to feel “in-control”…
▫️To feel in-control you need to minimise the “fear” around birth…
▫️To minimise fear you need to be educated and informed.

These relaxed group sessions will also give you an opportunity to meet and interact with other expectant parents.
Availability will be limited as I would like to keep groups small to make them more personalised.
The first block of sessions will start on Wednesday 30th August 6-8pm at Dalton community church hall and run every week for 4-6 weeks. Please DM or message on what’s app for more info or to book onto the course.
For people who are unavailable through the week there will be upcoming weekends classes. Please let me know if you would like to be placed on the waiting list for these dates.

🤍 What do you do for you??

▫️Do you consciously take time out for yourself?
▫️How do you manage stress, anxiety and overwhelm??
▫️What is the one activity/ place that relaxes you and silences your mind??

Anyone who follows my private page will know I'm annoyingly obsessed with the beach...
This is my headspace and my "time out" at the end of a manic day.
This is the place I go to switch off, gather my thoughts, clear my mind and gain clarity.
Whether I feel overstimulated, happy, sad, stressed or tired this is my number 1 go to place.

Self care doesn't have to be a full pamper day, or as structured as meditation....its about identifying that one thing you do "for you" and making a conscious effort to prioritise time for that thing in your day where possible 🫶🤍

To thrive in your pregnancy, you must identify which areas require the most support; imbalances can have huge implications on your overall experience.
Every individual will require a different levels of support.
