Have you ever considered that your every day movement habits may be causing you problems?

Walking is a good example. Have you ever noticed the different ways that people walk? Sometimes, you can tell who the person is by their gait. Quite often this is characterised by unnecessary holding of tension especially in the upper body which then perpetuates the pain cycle that they experience.

Learning the Alexander Technique can radically change these patterns. Learn to make the best of out of your beautiful ability to walk. Learn to walk with elegance and power whilst still retaining your individuality. Rather than holding surplus tension, you’ll have a method of letting it go. REGISTERED ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE TEACHER IN PRESTON AND BARROW Richard Marsden – practising as ‘Strolling Lighthouse’ – is a qualified teacher in the Alexander Technique, experienced in helping individuals since 2002 to improve their general health, physical fitness and wellbeing. Richard developed the term ‘Strolling Lighthouse’ as a positive thought process you can utilise as an aid to enjoy walking. It implies being pleasantly upright and freewheeling along in a tension-free manner. Lighthouses are also symbols of safety, sanctuary and strength. Lessons can be taken at our centre in Preston - The Remedy Centre - where we have a comfortable and accessible treatment room. Please get in touch with the centre to book an appointment.
