🏋️♀️🏃♀️➡️ COMMON CROSSFIT / HYROX INJURIES 🏃♀️🏋️♀️
Injuries can be common in CrossFit and Hyrox, but the type and location vary depending on the disciplines and exercises performed.
🏃♂️➡️ Tendinopathies (especially lower limb i.e. achilles, patellar tendons etc) occur frequently due to the repetitive nature of the sports. Achilles tendinopathies occur as a result of repeated loading from running, jumping and stepping up.
Additionally, strains are common due to exerting the muscle more than it can tolerate and/or overstretching it. Since CrossFit and Hyrox both have timed elements, athletes stretch the muscle too far under load, leading to a muscle strain ⏱️.
🤕🏋️ Injuries like these require an assessment, rehabilitation and hands-on treatment where appropriate.
🏆💆♀️ Also, for athletes training and competing in CrossFit and/or Hyrox, maintenance massages to reduce tightness and stiffness are extremely important to help reduce injury risk 📉.
