Tomorrow marks the 4th annual ⭐

March 27th is National Supported Internship Day! A day to celebrate opportunity, potential, and the life-changing impact of inclusion. Supported internships are not just about gaining work experience, they are about opening doors that may once have felt closed.

Support internships empower individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities to discover their strengths, build confidence, develop independence, and feel valued as equal members of the workforce.

Supported internships are about more than work experience, they represent inclusion, pride, and barriers being broken. They provide opportunities to:
• Build confidence and self-belief
• Gain practical, real-world skills
• Develop independence and life skills
• Form meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging
• Explore career pathways and achieve personal goals
• Transition into paid employment and brighter futures

But the impact of supported internships goes far beyond employment. They help people see themselves differently, not defined by disability, but by their talent, dedication, and potential.

Tomorrow, we celebrate every intern, every achievement, and every step forward. Everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute, belong, and thrive.

Today we’re marking National Social Prescribing Day 💚

Across South Cumbria, we see how much of a difference it makes when people are connected to the right support in their community, whether that’s getting active, meeting others, or finding help with everyday challenges.

If you’d like to learn more or be referred, speak to your local GP or Work and Health Coach.

A big thank you to everyone who makes this happen locally.
