As we start 2026 and we welcome our new members, it seems a good time to give some more details on what dry floatation is and how it can benefit you.

What Is Dry Floatation?

Dry Floatation is a relaxation and wellness technique that involves laying on a warm, supportive water base beneath a special membrane to lift and cradle your body, creating a weightless, deeply relaxing experience without the mess or prep of a traditional float tank. The water is heated to body temperature for your comfort and relaxation.

Situated in a softly lit room providing a calm atmosphere you will float away. Wearing an eye mask or closing your eyes and listening to soothing music or ambient sounds playing in the background to cut out background noise, you will drift away from the stresses of daily life.

Unlike traditional flotation tanks, where you float in a tank filled with water, dry flotation allows you to experience the sensation of floating without getting wet. The buoyancy of the water bed supports your body, relieving pressure on your joints and muscles. This can promote relaxation, stress relief, and pain relief.

If you are a health or wellness practitioner, tattoo artist, facialist or aesthetician looking for your own independent clinic space, in a supportive friendly environment? We are a hub of different health and wellbeing businesses in the heart of Barry providing a calm professional and safe setting and a shared waiting/ reception area.

We have a nearly refurbished good sized unfurnished therapy room (just under 4m by 4m in size) available to rent on a full time sole occupancy basis. The room comes unfurnished and would suit a healthcare practitioner, alternative health practitioner, tattoo artist, barber or aesthetician. There is the option to add a sink to the room if required.

Rent is inclusive of all bills, Internet access and refreshments and available to rent for £400pcm. That's less than £100 a week!

And to help you settle in we are offering a discounted rate of just £250 for the first 3 months.

The room is independently rated for business rates but qualifies for 100% small business rate relief meaning you pay no extra. You will have your own keys and be free to access your room as and when you need to 24/7.

The Therapist behind Vitalize Wales

As we start the new year I thought it would be helpful to introduce myself again.

I am a highly experienced professional therapist, qualified in a wide range of therapies suitable for everyone - from babies to older adults. I began my therapy journey in 2007, qualifying in Sports Massage (Level 4) at UWIC. I recognise that each client responds differently so embrace a holistic approach to all treatments.

In 2011, I trained in Clinical Foot Reflexology and Reiki, and have since added a range of additional therapies to my skillset.

I am a Mum of two and it was the birth of my first child in 2012 that inspired me to become a trainer in baby massage and baby reflexology, helping parents and caregivers enhance the special bond with their little ones while enjoying the therapeutic benefits themselves.

In 2016, I added Sports Reflexology, a therapy ideal for acute and chronic injuries, as well as conditions such as fibromyalgia.

In Autumn 2020, I trained in Hydrotherm massage, an innovative system that elevates a massage treatment quality.

Over the years I have also undertaken specialist training in pregnancy massage, Indian Head massage, soft cupping, lava shell, holistic facials, facial cupping -ensuring each therapy is tailored to the client’s unique needs.

In 2021, I expanded from clinical practice into teaching and became Director of TEACH Therapy Ltd, qualifying as a tutor in 2024 and now alongside running my clinic I teach students in a range of massage and reflexology disciplines.

I passionately believe that therapies should be accessible to everyone and that Sports Massage benefits everyone. I work with a wide range of athletes - from professionals to those beginning their sporting journeys (including footballers, referees, runners, cyclists, swimmers, golfers, fencers, yoga/ Pilates and rugby players) as well as those who do not partake in any sport at all.

In 2024, I was proudly awarded Massage Therapist of the Year, Wales, in the national Hair & Beauty Awards, an evidenced based awards system which recognises professionalism, skill and the positive impact made for clients.

I am a member of the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA), and fully insured with Holistic Insurance Services.
